Instructions for Applying for FSA Undergraduate Program
Read all instructions and information carefully before completing the application. Neatness is important. Before filling out the original application, answer the questions on a separate sheet of paper.
All forms in this application are to be completed in English and must be typewritten or hand printed in blue or black ink. To be considered for evaluation, each application MUST include and be in the following order:
- Pages 1 through 3 of the application. Every question must be answered completely and carefully. Please make every effort, however, to limit your answers to the space provided;
- A translated version of the official transcript must be completed on the form provided;
- Official undergraduate transcripts printed on official university stationary, signed by a dean or equivalent official, and certified with the official university seal;*
- A detailed statement of purpose of at least one page;
- A letter to your host family or American roommate;
- Two letters of recommendation with certified translations, if necessary. The recommendations should be completed by instructors from the student's field of specialization (first-year students may ask their high school teachers to recommend them), work supervisor or community leader and must be certified with the official university or work seal. DO NOT place recommendations in sealed envelopes attached to the application;
- Application certification and application checklist.
*FIRST-YEAR STUDENTS MUST SUBMIT AN OFFICIAL, CERTIFIED HIGH SCHOOL TRANSCRIPT WITH CERTIFIED ENGLISH TRANSLATIONS IN ADDITION TO UNDERGRADUATE TRANSCRIPTS.
ACTR/ACCELS will verify the contents of transcripts and recommendations with the appropriate institutions and instructors. Applications containing false information or missing any of the above items will not be considered. Please note that the shape or size of official stamps is not important, but they must be authentic.
Please answer every question. If the question does not apply to you, please write N/A (not applicable).
Submit one original copy of the application form and attachments (official transcripts and recommendations) and two photocopies. Keep an additional photocopy for your records. IF YOU DO NOT TURN IN AN ORIGINAL PLUS TWO COPIES, YOUR APPLICATION WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
It is recommended that interested individuals contact an Education Information Center or an ACTR/ACCELS office to learn more about the American educational system and the application process for this program. Applicants should also consult with their academic advisors, as universities in the NIS often do not accept course credits earned at American colleges or universities.
