EnriqueH's Pound For Pound List

My pound-for-pound (p4p) rankings are based on ability, potential, and quality of opposition.

1) Bernard Hopkins- This highly skilled, tough and committed fighter skyrockets from #6 to #1 with a convincing, knockout win over the previously unbeaten, highly touted Felix Trinidad. Up until that win, I felt he was a very underrated, underappreciated fighter. I'm glad he finally made his case to the world.

2) Felix Trinidad- Knockouts over Fernando Vargas and William Joppy. Lost by virtual shut-out and KO to Hopkins, but he has an impressive resume and has kept busy fighting and beating some of the best out there.

3) Roy Jones- He's got great skills, but it's hard to remember the last time he fought a top 5 opponent. I still think Roy SHOULD be the best fighter in the world, but he seldom proves it by fighting the best.

4) "Sugar" Shane Mosley- Mosley hasn't fought anyone since De La Hoya, but it was a supreme victory. He has proven himself to be, in my opinion, the best body puncher p4p in the business. He is fast and throws great combinations.

5) Floyd Mayweather- Great speed and boxing ability. Highly impressive win over Diego Corrales says it all.

6) Oscar De La Hoya- You can't count him out yet. His loss to Trinidad was extremely controversial and his loss to Mosley was very close. With the right guidanace, I think DLH can make it back to the top. Win over Javier Castillejo wasn't a huge win, but a step in the right direction.

7)Marco Antonio Barrera- Amazing fighter. Despite two losses to Junior Jones a few years back, Barrera has come back, beating undefeated Naseem Hamed convincingly.

8) Kostya Tszyu---Stunning, impressive 2nd round KO win over Zab Judah puts him right up there. I had predicted Tszyu would win, but not that quickly.

9) Joel Casamayor---Joel doesn't do one thing extremely well, but he's a very solid, well put together fighter. His performance against Acelino Freitas will show me if I'm wrong to place him up here, but I think he can beat Freitas, and is one of the few guys who could give Mayweather a good fight.

10) Ronald "Winky" Wright- One of boxing's best kept secrets. In my opinion, he beat Harry Simon and came within a hair of upsetting Fernando Vargas in their fight. He again beat Bronco McKart and beat gritty Keith Mullings. Awkward fighter, and exceptionally tough to look good against.
