The Phobia Files
Team Rocket is a psychiatrist's nightmare. They probably have so many deeply repressed fears that it would take quite a while to sort them all out. This idea came to me as I was writing a speech on phobias, and I figured I'd just look up the names of the ones Team Rocket seems to have. I know I've seen this done elsewhere (can't remember where exactly), but let it be known that I actually thought of this and looked up all the names on my own. I didn't come up with too many however, but here's what I DO have...
Electrophobia: The fear of electricity. Pikachu anyone?
Amychophobia: The fear of scratches or being scratched. Jessie and James have this, obviously. It must really hurt when Meowth does that, but at least there's no permanent scarring. o_o (It's a kid's show, whaddaya expect! :p
Altophobia: The fear of heights. They only mention this once, and if they're so scared of heights, what are they doing in hot air balloons, helicopters, flying stadiums, and such? Beats me...
Dikephobia: The fear of justice. Of course, they don't wanna get caught!
Kakorrhaphiophobia: The fear of failure of defeat. What a big word. They have to live with this pretty much all the time, but they never give up, you gotta admire that! ^_^
Atelophobia: The fear of imperfection. This one's for Jessie. "A tragedy.. my face.. perfection has been ruined."
Nostophobia: The fear of returning home. This one's for James. Not that I blame him. If I had the choice between going home and living with a psychotic woman who thought chasing me around the room with a whip was an acceptable (and fun) Saturday afternoon activity, and staying with a slightly less psychotic (sorry Jess ^_^') woman who only beat me up on occasion, I'd pick the latter too. I think.
I know, I know. I have pathetically few. But maybe I'll look up more later. ^_^
