The Galactic Senate are the control center of the entire galaxy. The institution is long respected and obeyed. The present and future of all of the Republic is commanding and decided by the Senate. There are over a thousand senators who come to the impressive Senate building on Coruscant for every meeting. They come from member worlds throughout the entire republic, to the Main Senate Chamber and they discuss problems and come up with solutions under the domed roof of the chamber.
In the senate, the disputes and quarrels of the galaxy are discussed in a civilised manner, without resorting to threats and weapons. Each and every world in the Republic can be represented in the Senate, even the smallest planet can make a petition and make their voice heard. For thousands of years, the government has kept the peace and given freedom to all members of the Republic.
