My Everything

Chapter 3

~*~

Bright sunlight managed to squeeze itself through the crack between the curtains. Sonny Corinthos immediately caught the light and pulled the curtains shut, not allowing any light through. He didn't like the brightness, it made the penthouse into a cheery, joyful place...which it definitely was not.

He rested his hands on the dining table and leaned forward to stare into nothingness. He had tried to avoid contact with anyone over the past week. He had done a good job of that with the exception of Mike and Hannah.

He could remember Mike being his usual self. Barging in trying to figure out what was wrong, ask about a million questions. Usually the same ones over and over again. After he jumped to the wrong conclusion he would try to give some ''good father'' advice, which never helped and just was not needed. After Mike did all the talking and he just stood there barely listening to word he was saying came the point where he couldn't stand him anymore. He couldn't deal with it. Couldn't deal with Mike. He had to basically throw Mike out.

Then there was Hannah. Her and her lies. He stopped himself before he could go on. He didn't want to think about her. Every time he did all he felt like doing was breaking something.

Surprisingly enough the only person he actually wanted to see was her...Carly that it. The one person in a million years he wouldn't have imagined wanting to see. The person he thought he couldn't stand. He had imagined her countless times showing up at the door. But of course she never did. Why would she? They hadn't spoken since...since the kiss. Oh boy that was something else.

Sonny walked over to the bar to get himself a drink. He suddenly felt the room heat up. The way she kissed. The intensity. The passion. The way her lips brushed against his and the smoothness of his skin. Never before had he felt anything like that. It was everything. He wanted more...he needed more.

But that phone - he grinded his teeth. That dam phone. Why did Benny always chose the worst possible times to call? What would have happened if the phone hadn't rung?

Sonny closed his eyes and shook his head. He rubbed his hand over his rough skin, which was desperate for a shave. Sonny Corinthos what have you gotten yourself into?

Snow scattered the ground, but the sun shone brightly through this mild November day. Carly Quartermaine admired her reflection in the glass window of Kelly's. Her blond hair fell loosely and framed her face.

She walked inside Kelly's to find Hannah Scott coming down the stairs. Carly inspected Hannah from head to toe. Yuck, what does Sonny even see in her. She looked up at Hannah's face. Her eyes were red and puffy, obviously from crying a lot. ''Hey Banana, what's wrong with you?''

Hannah lifted her head but couldn't meet Carly's eyes. She sniffled. ''Carly, I am really not in the mood for this.'' She tried to get past Carly but she blocked her way.

''Aww, poor bim bat. What happened? Sonny finally saw you for the FBI slut you really are and threw you out?'' She threw her head back and laughed loudly.

Hannah looked up, surprised to know that Sonny had told Carly. Carly out of all people. ''What did Sonny say? Did he tell everyone already?'' Hannah asked, looking rather embarrassed.

Carly grinned at Hannah. Not letting her know that she had no clue that Sonny broke up with her. ''How long did you think that you could actually hang on to him. Huh? Before it took him to realize who you really are.''

''Listen Carly, you don't know anything about me and Sonny -''

Carly cut her off. ''Actually honey I know a thing or two and I know that you put yourself in this situation so don't pull that 'oh poor me' routine, okay? Cuz it ain't gonna work you got that?'' Carly didn't back down. ''So why don't you take you and your cheap clothing outta here.'' Carly pointed to the door.

Hannah brushed past Carly and left Kelly's in a hurry. Carly stood there with the fact that had finally sunk in. Hannah and Sonny were over. Obviously Sonny had broken things with her. Carly couldn't help but smile to herself. Had he done that because of her? Their kiss? Did it mean that much? No, it couldn't be. It was bound to happen sooner or later since Sonny found out about Hannah being a FBI agent.

She sat down on a stool while ordering some coffee. She inhaled her coffee deeply. How she loved the smell. She suddenly thought of Sonny. Carly pushed her coffee aside. How could she concentrate on anything when all she thought of was him? She picked up her purse and decided she needed to see him. Enough was enough. She managed to avoid him as much as she could the past week. Now she was caving in, she needed to see him.

~*~

He needed to see her. As much as he denied it the more it made it true. However, he needed an excuse...but what? He tapped his pencil impatiently at his desk. Jason...he would inform her about Jason...it would work, it had to. He picked up the phone and dialed her cell phone number hoping to catch her alone.

Carly walked into the elevator of Harbourview Towers as her cell phone began to ring. She shuffled through her belongings to finally answer it.

''Hello.''

''Hi...It's me.'' Said the low voice.

Carly could recognize that voice anywhere. ''Sonny?'' Her heart began to beat faster at the thought that he would call her.

''Eh, can you...can you meet me at my penthouse. There's something's we need to discuss.''

''Yeah, sure. I'll be there...faster than you would expect.'' She said, unable to contain a slight laugh. She hung up. She couldn't believe he invited her over. Okay so it probably wasn't because he wanted to...or was it? She shook her head of all the confused thoughts and stepped off the elevator. No sign of Johnny. She walked up to the door fidgeting with the buttons of her shirt along the way. Carly stopped at the door and took a deep breath. She knocked on the door ever so slightly, hoping he wouldn't hear but again hoping he would.

Time passed, few seconds perhaps or could have been a few minutes, either way she wouldn't have known. She was too busy thinking about him.

The door swung open and he was there staring at her. He moved to the side gesturing for her to come in without saying a word. Carly stepped in and Sonny finally spoke. ''I didn't expect you to get here so...so fast.''

Carly couldn't help but let out a slight giggle, Sonny raised an eyebrow at what she thought was so amusing. ''I...I was...''

''What?'' Sonny demanded.

''I was actually in the elevator over to your penthouse when you called.'' She burst into laughter, grinning from ear to ear.

Sonny stared at her managing to give some sort of smile back. But all he could do was stare at her. She was so gorgeous weather she was in a fit of giggles or steaming mad. He stared at her outfit it was simply stunning. A pale pink buttoned shirt with a tight pair of blue jeans. She definitely was a great dresser. She made the most casual clothing look great. Not to mention her great body.

Carly finally escaped from her laughter and stared back at him. His gaze was so intense but she could stare back for hours. He was just simply so sexy.

''You needed to see me about something?'' he managed to say without breaking off their gaze.

''Yeah...umm...'' How could she admit to this man that she just wanted to see him. ''You called me didn't you?''

Sonny shrugged slightly. His stared at the floor not able to contain her gaze this time.
Carly took in a deep breath. ''Actually I came because...'' She hesitated. ''Because I wanted to see you.''

Sonny eyes flew up and immediately met hers. He was definitely surprised of what she had just said. Did she feel the same way he did? Sonny became confused, wondering what way that was.

Carly herself was surprised at what she had said. She did not expect a reply from him since his gaze was worth a thousand words. She could feel him, how he was feeling. Like she could read what he was not saying. ''C'mon Sonny, you know you wanted to see me too?'' She lingered over to him putting her arm on his shoulder. Tempting him ever so slightly.

Sonny moved back from her. He leaned against the back of his couch. ''Don't tempt me baby cuz you don't know what you're getting yourself into.''

Carly frowned, knowing what he was trying to do. She went and wrapped her arms around his neck moving closer to him.

He inhaled her scent. God, she smelled good. He tried not to give in to her but it was too much. Their foreheads pressed against each other. Sonny wrapped his arms around her waist.

His hands moved lower. Carly bit her lip. He wouldn't dare. ''You shouldn't go there Sonny...'' she said. But he did. She stared at his lips and at the same time moistened hers. Sonny leaned in slowly and they both gave into what they were so desperate to have.

His hands traveled to her front and slowly unbuttoned her shirt. He couldn't wait...he needed her. Carly didn't bother to stop him, instead she went for his shirt. Her mouth never leaving his. Sonny pulled back for a short moment. ''You sure you know what you're getting yourself into?''

Carly stared up into his deep brown eyes. ''I am sure.'' She whispered and kissed him on his lips.

Both too caught up in each other neither one noticed the penthouse door slowly opening. Jason Morgan stood there shocked at what he saw.

My Everything

Chapter 4

Sonny Corinthos and Carly Quartermaine's lips parted as they heard the door the penthouse close. Both suddenly aware that someone else was in the room. Sonny opened his eyes immediately and at the same moment Carly turned around and they both came face to face with their best friend Jason Morgan.

No one said a word. Jason looked back and forth from Sonny and Carly trying to meet his eyes with theirs. None were able to do so.

Carly quickly buttoned up her shirt and stared at the floor, wishing she could just run right out of the room. She didn't know what to do...what to say...was she supposed to give him some sort of explanation? Maybe something like 'I don't know what happened Jason I just couldn't help myself'. She knew dam right she couldn't and wouldn't say that. But she began to wonder was their an explanation to her actions?

Sonny stood very still. He never thought this would happen. Not once had he imagined nor thought of the consequences that followed his actions. Not once had he actually cared. All he had thought about was her and her. But now he had been caught with his best friends girl.... by his best friend. He looked up at Jason, still not making eye contact but he could see exactly how Jason felt. He could see how hurt he was and how confused he was. Sonny swallowed the lump in his throat.

Jason couldn't seem to understand it. How could he? It didn't make and sense to him, it probably wouldn't make any sense to anybody. Two people who couldn't even stand the sight of one and other were engaged in...His mind shifted and he tried to study the expressions on each of their faces. He couldn't. All those times he thought he could read Carly like a book were just not working now. His mind wasn't working. He just kept wondering why this happened. Had he pushed Carly away too much. Had his chance with her that had always been there finally gone? Wasn't she supposed to love him. But love doesn't hurt like this. Love SHOULDN'T hurt like this. What had happened?

Carly finally broke the deafening silence, unable to take it anymore. ''Jase.'' She said softly.

Jason's eyes finally met with hers. He took a glance at Sonny who wouldn't budge and looked back at her. He knew he couldn't yell at them. He knew they didn't owe him anything. For the first time ever it sunk it to him that he had lost something he never knew he really wanted. ''I...I shouldn't be here.''

''Jason don't go. Please.'' She pleaded.

''You two don't owe my an explanation...not even an apology okay? What ever you guys do is between the two of you. It's your business not mine.'' He swallowed. ''Carly, you're not with me. I am not with you. We're not together. You're free to run your life however the heck you want to!'' With those words he rushed out of the penthouse slamming the door behind him.

Carly shut her eyes and a single tear streamed down her cheek. She had hurt him, he wouldn't say it but she had. At that moment she realized that they were over. Her and Jason were over. With just one glance at his face when he walked in you would know. She breathed heavily.

For the first time ever Carly heard Sonny actually sound concerned, ''Carly...are you okay?'' he asked in a low voice.

She didn't expect him to say that. She had expected him to yell at her, blame her and say it was all her doing's or call her names. She wished he would, so she would know what had happened was nothing. So that she knew that she didn't feel anything for him and him anything for her. But he never did. Carly faced him, wiping the tears that were now forming in her eyes. ''Yeah...'' she sniffled. ''I am...am fine you know...''

''I never meant for this to happen....'' he said. ''For Jason to come and see us like this...I wouldn't do that.'' He meant every word. No matter what he said in the past he knew she loved Jason. She may have wrecked his life but she did love him.

Carly nodded and for some reason she believed him. Believed that he didn't set it up this way. ''I believe you.'' She whispered staring into his eyes. His eyes suddenly dropped to the floor and silence surrounded them. Carly put on her coat and went back to Sonny. ''I need to go find him...''

Sonny didn't oppose. He simply nodded and turned to the bar, pouring himself a drink. Alcohol seemed to wash everything away.

Carly stared at him. She didn't want to leave, not knowing what he might do. But she had to find Jason.

The fall breeze blew against his black leather jacket. He stared out from the docks at the water, trying to clear his head. Trying not to think about them. But it was so hard. All he could think about was what he had saw when he walked in. He had felt so hurt, like all the air had been sucked up from inside of him. He couldn't move either, it was like he was frozen in time. He wondered why they had done that, to hurt him? He naturally assumed they were sleeping together. How long had this been going on? While he left? Before he left? He shook his head vigorously, not wanting to think about it anymore. Trying not to think about the things that made him hurt the worst.

Carly walked down the steps of the docks. She spotted him staring out into the water. Slowly she walked up to him. ''Jason...''

He turned away from her and sighed. ''Carly...'' he paused. ''Please just leave okay. I don't wanna fight.''

''Neither do I. But we need to talk.'' She said slowly, not wanting to upset him.

He shook his head and faced her. ''I...I can't do this.'' He stuttered. ''I can't deal with you here.''

''You'll have to deal with me sometime, you know.''

He sighed once more. She was always stubborn and never gave up, he always loved that about her even if it got her into messes she couldn't get out of. ''Fine.''

''I am sorry.'' Carly said. It's all she could say.

''Sorry?? Sorry about what?'' It was a rhetorical question and she knew it. ''You don't have to apologize okay Carly...''

She interrupted him. ''Yes I do Jase, I hurt you and you have to know that I am truly sorry and that I didn't do it on purpose.''

Jason shook his head. ''You don't get it do you Carly. Every time it's the same. 'You didn't mean to.'....'You didn't do it on purpose.'...'I never meant to hurt you.'. It's the same thing over and over.''

Carly could feel the tears forming. ''But I mean it I didn't mean to hurt you!''

''I know that!'' he exclaimed. ''But you did! I can't keep living my life this way. Keep getting hurt by the person that I love.'' He stopped. He said it. He knew he felt it but never knew he would actually say it. He loved her. Not just as a friend but more.

Carly stared at him, expecting him to say 'only as a friend' or something along those lines. ''Do...do you mean that?'' she said almost in a whisper, afraid that if she said it too loud he would hear and tell her that she was only a friend.

Jason cupped her face in his hands. ''I do love you Carly, and not just as a friend.'' He paused. ''But...'' he moved away.

Carly closed her eyes there was always a 'but'. She opened her eyes again.

''But...we don't work. We never will. You'd wreck me so fast there wouldn't be anything left. The family you created in your mind never existed. And never will.'' He could see her cringe at his last words. He knew it hurt her but he had to say them.

''You...you're spontaneous Carly.'' He said, she almost laughed. ''You do things on the top of your head which you want me to fix. And god....'' he stared up at the sky. ''You know I will always be there to fix them for you...but not when it's me. How can you expect me to fix your problems when I am ruined.''

Carly stood there silent. She didn't know what to say. Lost for words you might say.

''I love you Carly. I always will love you. But...but we can never be together maybe you will find that type of love with Sonny...I don't know.''

Carly shook her head. ''You need to understand what happened with us it wasn't what...''

''It doesn't matter.'' He cut her off. ''It's over ok. I need to just...take some time to think...''

''You're making this sound like you're leaving or something.'' She said.

He knew he needed to leave. He needed to get away from her and Sonny before anything else happened. He was already planning to leave again for business since things were heating up in Puerto Rico. ''Maybe I am...''

''What do you mean? You're not leaving Jason...''

''I need to take some time away from here okay. There's just too much going on and I can't deal with it.''

''Jase, you can't leave because of us.'' She paused. ''I won't let you.''

''Carly...it's not just because of this okay. It's business.''

''It always is...''she said under her breath.

''I was planning on leaving again, it was just a matter of time. And now just seems like the best time for everyone.''

Carly sighed. He had that look on his face. The 'you can't convince me to stay no matter what' look. She didn't fight him. Maybe it was for the best. It finally sunk in that the family she wanted, her, Jason and Michael was never going to happen. And maybe it would be better this way if she didn't have to see him for awhile reminding her of what could have been. ''Okay...Can you believe it Carly Benson accepting something without a fight.'' They both laughed. Her face grew serious. ''Just promise me one thing.''

Jason stared her straight in her eyes. ''Anything.'' He whispered.

''Promise me that you'll come back.'' She said, tears falling down her face.

Jason wiped them away with his thumb. ''I promise.'' He said pulling her in for a hug.

''You have to say goodbye to Michael okay?'' She said into his jacket. She knew he would go see Sonny on his own and she didn't want to mention his name, so things wouldn't be any worse.

''I will...don't worry.'' The two pulled out of the hug, and Jason walked away.

''Jason wait!'' she called after him.

He turned around. ''Goodbye.'' Carly said.

He smiled and left the docks.
