*Chapter 1*
It's 6 o'clock and Gia Cambell was walking on the docks after a hard days
work. As she was walking her cell phone started ringing. "Hello" she
answered. "Hi Boo remember me?" said a man in a very ghetto but cold voice.
Gia frozed in fear and said "Ramel, is that you? Are you still in jail?"
"Nah, five-0 let me out early. You remember to keep your smart mouth shut
about what happend right? Where the hell are you? he said angrily.
"I'm staying with a friend. I know. I didn't see anything that night at
the tunnel." she said quickly "Good. I'm going to holla at you soon.
Remember your my girl. If I see you with anybody else other than me you get
beat. Like the other times before. Peace" Jamel said. "Oh my God" Gia said
as she sat down on the bench shaking "its not going to happen again!" she
screamed.
"Whats not going to happen again" a voice replied. Gia turned and saw
Nikolas Cassidine behind her smiling at her. "What do you want Nik? she said
back to her old self "Nothing, I was just walking and I heard you yelling. I
was just about to call you to tell you that Zander's arrest is official. It's
over Gia. The charges against us are all cleared" Nikolas said seriously.
"Good" Gia said feeling a little better.
Nikolas smiled again and said "Now back to your favorite subject you. Why
were you yelling? Let me guess your next blackmailing scheme didn't work?"
"Very funny, and none of your damn business" Gia said. "Seriously Gia are
you in trouble?" Nik said a little conerned. "I told you no! Leave me alone!
Prince! I'm going to Taggert's house for dinner" Gia said and pushed Nik as
she walked away.
Nik looked at her smiling as she walked away and said "What is up with
her?" He look at the direction she was going and realized that Taggert's
house is the opposite direction" I'm going to find out" he said and started
to follow her.
*chapeter 2*
As Nikolas followed Gia he thought "Why am I so concerned about Gia all
of a sudden? She's loud, only cares about herself, beautiful, strong... Snap
out of it Nikolas!" he said to himself. Gia walked into an apartment
building and pressed one of the intercom buttons. "Yo who is it? " a male
voice replied. "Is Jamal Woods there?" Gia said. "Yea this is him" Jamal
replied. "Jamal, its me Gia. I really need to talk to you I need your help
Could I come up?" Gia said holding back her tears. "Gia? You alright? Hold on
I'm coming down. Jamal said quickly.
"Why does she look so upset? How does she know Jamal? Why is she asking
Jamal for help and what for? Nikolas wondered. As Jamal came out of the
building Gia ran straight to him crying. "Ramel's out of jail. He just called
me on my cell phone Jamal! Its happening all over again" Gia cried shaking.
"Gia calm down. How did he track you down? Lisa and I made sure he didn't
know that you moved to Port Charles." Jamal said seriously "Thats what I
thought. He would never know where I went" Gia said a little more calmly.
"He probably found out by some of the punks in our old neighborhood Gia
what are you going to do? You can't leave town because of your moms and
Taggert" Jamal said "I'm getting myself protection. Thats why I came. I
wanted to warn you if he comes after you. I mean you just killed Cedric one
of his boys he might want to retaliate on you."
"Also I wanted to know if you anybody that sells guns. I'm not going to
let him do me in when I'm not looking." Gia said boldly "You sure you want to
be strapped?" Jamal said "Yea, very sure. I'm going to call Lisa and tell her
to come to Port Charles so we could all look out for each other." Gia said a
little more determined.
"Alright Thats cool with me. A couple of blocks from here there's a dude
who sells guns he starting price for one is $100 and the maximum price is
$500. Be careful Gia thats a really bad area. And remember you need anything,
anything call me." Jamal said encouragingly as he gave her a hug. "I will
Jamal." Gia said and gave him a peck on the cheek as walked out of the
building.
Still hiding in the bushes, Nikolas sees Gia coming out of Jamal's
building and walking to the worst part of town. "What the hell is she doing
now? Thats the worst part of town" Nik said as he started walking. "What do
you want" a middle aged man replied. "I heard that you sell guns I need one
now" Gia said with attitude. "What kind of gun are you looking for?" the
middle aged man said. "Something small, powerful, and could fit into my
purse" Gia said.
The middle aged man went to his car and brought out a bag and pulled out
a silver gun. "This one would be perfect for you. It has everything you want
and need" the middle age man said. "How much?" Gia said "$250 take it or
leave it" the middle age man replied. "Take it" Gia said as she was holding
the gun "perfect' she said and gave the man the money. "One more thing
sweetheart. Why does a girl like you need a gun" the middle age man said.
"Why does a old fart like you sell them?" Gia said and walked away.
"Whats the gun for?" Nikolas wondered and realized that whatever kind of
trouble Gia is in that she has to buy a gun is serious. Nikolas shooked his
head and started to follow Gia. As Gia walked through the park, two men one
with a bald head and one with braids grabbed her from behind. Gia tried to
grab her purse to reach for her gun but the bald headed man grabbed it and
smacked her. "Remal wants to see you Gia" one of the men replied. "Let me go
asshole" Gia yelled.
"You heard her" Nikolas said and punched the bald headed man and they
started to fight. "Who the f##k is this? You know this guy?" the man with
braids said to Gia. Gia then elbowed him and fell on the floor. Then man
with braids then pulled a knife to Nikolas. "Ok power ranger. Enough with all
this karate crap." he said as he moved closer to him. Nikolas then did a
round house kick to get the kife away and then punched the man to the wall.
Gia looked at her attackers on the ground and then at Nikolas in
amazement. She then got up to pick up her bag until Nikolas brushed it off
and handed it to her. "What kind of trouble are in Gia. That you have to buy
a gun" Nikolas said concerned. "This doesn't have anything to do with you!"
Gia said angrily as she tried to walked "ow" she said as she touched her
right ankle. "Let me see" Nik said as he looked down at the ankle. "I'm
fine. Go away" Gia said as she tried to walk again "ow dammit!"
Nik then grabbed her right arm, wrapped it around his shoulder and led
her to one of the benches. "Put your leg up" Nikolas said "Why?" Gia said
with an attitude. 'Because I said so!" Nikolas yelled. Gia rolled her eyes
and put her right leg on Nik's lap. "Tell me when it starts to hurt ok?"
Nikolas said as his hand touched Gia leg smoothly.
"Why do you have to touch my leg?" Gia said as she tried to move it away.
"To see if its broken or sprained" Nikolas replied. As Nikolas moved closer
to the ankle he asked "how does that feel?" "Good" Gia said with a smile
liking his gentle touch "I mean fine" turning serious again. "Oww" Gia
screamed. Nikolas looked at the ankle then touched it gently and said "your
ankle is sprained I have to get you to GH." he said. "Hell no! They will
tell my brother" Gia said.
"Your right, then I'll take you to Whydemere and Mrs. Landsbury will put
the bandages on" Nikolas said. "Where's your car" Gia said "A couple of
blocks from here" he said. "I can't walk!" Gia said "how are we supposed to
get to it?" Nikolas smiled and said "there's only one way" he then picked
Gia up and led her to the car "Put me down" Gia yelled.
"Oww" Gia yelled. "I'm sorry Ms. Cambell" Mrs. Landsbury replied as she
was wraping Gia's ankle. "I got you something to eat" Nikolas said as he was
coming in with a tray. "Thanks" Gia said with a smile as Mrs. Landsbury
walked away. "Nikolas if you hadn't shown up when those guys attacked me I
don't know where I would be right now. Thankyou" Gia said. "Wow Gia Cambell
actually thanking me? Nikolas said with a laugh as Gia laughed too. "Don't
get used to it, your highness" Gia said. "Your welcome" he said
"Would you like to tell me whats going on? I could help." he said
seriously. Gia looked at Nikolas and shooked her head. "I can't" she said a
little afraid. "You can Gia. Who is Ramel?" Nikolas said a little
frusturated. "He, he's my x-boyfriend. He's head of a gang called the
Knights." Gia said. "When I found out that he was in a gang I tried to break
up with him. He hit me. It wasn't the last. So I was forced to stay with
him." she said slowly.
Nikolas took a deep breath and listened. "A couple of months ago we went
to a club called the Tunnel in Manhattan. There was a deal happening in one
of the rooms. Ramel was planning the deal. Anyway, as the deal was going
down, a rival gang came and starting shooting at the club. So Ramel and his
gang started shooting. " she said sadly.
"They were shooting innocent people while they were killing each other.
A pregnant woman got killed in the shooting. I saw the whole thing. The
shooting was all over TV and the newspapers." she said angrily. "She's been
through alot" Nikolas thought looking stunned. "That same night Ramel got
arrested for drugs. He told me to wait for him while he was in jail. I
thought this was my chance to get away from him for good. Jamal and my
friend Lisa made up a story for people in my old neighborhood about where I
went. Thats why I moved to Port Charles the only place that I thought that
he didn't know about." she said very tired.
"Gia why don't you go to Taggert and your mom about this?" Nik said.
"Because Ramel threatened to come after them if I do. He's so powerful and
has connections everywhere." Gia said on the verge of tears. She wiped her
tears away and yelled "I have to deal with this on my own. No one can find
out about this! I'll kill that bastard before he comes near me!" she said as
she punched the wall and fell to the couch. Nikolas caught her and held her
as she cried.
"Shhh its ok now. You're safe here" Nikolas said. Gia stopped crying and
said with an attitude "I have to go. Don't tell anybody Nikolas" She
started to head for the door until Nikolas blocked the door and said "You're
not going anywhere by youself. I'll take you home." Gia opened the door and
walked out. Nikolas then grabbed the keys to his car and left with Gia.
*chapter 3*
At Kelly's the next day, Nikolas thinks about what happened the night
before. Thinking about when he held Gia in his arms while she cried.
"There's so much that I didn't know about Gia. Maybe thats why she acts the
way she does" he thought to himself. "Nikolas whats wrong" Elizabeth asked
as she brought his coffee. "Nothing Liz. How are you?" Nikolas replied. "It
looks like you had a rough night last night. You want to talk about it?" Liz
said. "No not really. Lets say you can always judge somebody by their
actions" Nikolas answered. As Nikolas said this Gia walked in.
"One bagel and cream cheese with jelly and a coffee to go." Gia replied
with attidude to Elizabeth. "Fine" Liz answered with hostility and went to
the back. Gia looked at Nikolas and turned the other way. "Is your ankle
feeling better?" Nikolas answered "Yes. Nikolas let's forget about last
night ok?" Gia said. "I would like too Gia. But last night proved that you
don't have this situation under control. Nikolas said.
"When are you going to ask for help when your in a hospital bed? Gia if
you don't do something fast that fire, that spirit in side of you is going to
burn out" he said as he touched her right hand. Gia looked at him very
angrily and moved her right hand and said "I could handle this Cassidine ok.
Worry about yourself for a change." "Here's you order Gia" Liz said. Gia
took it and walked out of Kelly's.
"What was that about?" Liz asked "Is Gia have something to do about last
night?" "Yes she does" Nikolas answered. "Why are you wasting your time with
trash like that. She blackmailed Emily. We still really don't know the
reason why. She causes trouble" Liz said boldly. "Elizabeth, if you know
what I know about Gia you wouldn't call her trash. I have to go." Nikolas
said angrily. As Nikolas left Liz who was stunned at his reaction.
While walking to L & B Nikolas was still thinking about Gia. He thought
about her so much that he bumped into Taggert at the docks. "Whoa Nikolas,
watch where you're going" Taggert said with a laugh. Have you seen Gia this
morning?" "Yea she was at Kellys." Nikolas said as he walked passed him.
"What is up with him?" Taggert wondered.
Gia walked to Taggerts office without being seen by other officers and
staff. Gia turned on Taggert's computer and look for a police file on Ramel
Williams. "There is a lot of information to print out" Gia thought and got
started before Taggert walked in.
Meanwhile in Brooklyn, Ramel Williams is waiting for the guys he paid to
get Gia. Just then the car pulled up and a man with braids came out of the
car. "Yo Smiley, where's Gia?" Jamal said hostily. "We tried to grab her
like you said then some dude who looked like her boyfriend came out and
attacked us and took Gia." Smilely said a little afraid. "Boyfriend?
Boyfriend!" Ramel screamed "that b###h played me! Where's she at Smiley?"
"Port Charles" Smilely replied. "Lets pay her a little vist" Ramel said and
went to the car.
In L&B Nikolas could not concentrate on work he felt that he had to do
something he then took the phone and called GH. "Jamal Woods please. Jamal
its Nikolas. I want to talk to you. Could you meet me at L&B as soon as
possible? Thanx" he said with a sigh. "Ok now I have to find a way to get out
of here" Gia thought as she stuffed some papers into her bookbag. She looked
out the window of Taggert's office and saw Taggert walking in and wave to
her. "Oh my God. Act calm" Gia said as she sat down. "How long have you
been here sis" Taggert said as he gave her a hug.
"Not long. Just wanted to stop by and say hi" Gia replied cheerfully.
"Marcus I have to go. I have a class in an hour. I'll talk to you soon" Gia
said as she walked out. "Gia wait, is something wrong. Something you want to
tell me?" Taggert said very concerned. "No not at all" Gia said as she walked
out of the police station.
"Em that song you wrote for Juan upcoming album is great. I want you to
write other material for him also." Nikolas said. "Really! thanx Nikolas. I
have two songs that I'm going to bring tomarrow" Emily said happily. As they
were talking Jamal walked in. "Yo Nikolas you wanted to talk to me" Jamal
said as he clasped Nikolas's hand. "Yea, its very important. Em can you give
us some privacy" Nikolas said nicely. "Sure" Emily said and walked away.
"Jamal I know everything about Gia. About her ex and why she came to
Port Charles" Nikolas said. "She told you!" Jamal said surprised.
"Yesterday, I was following her to see why she was acting so strange. While
she was walking home two men, who probably worked for Ramel tried to get her
in a car to see Ramel but I stopped them" Nikolas said.
"After that I took her to Wydemere to fix her ankle. Thats when she told
me everything." he said. Jamal looked at him and shook his head "Thanx man"
Jamal said "damn, what is Gia going to do now?" "I don't know. I tried to
reason with her at Kelly's this morning but she told me to stay out of it."
Nikolas replied. "We can't tell the cops. Then Gia would go to jail while
Ramel is out on parole. And there's no telling when he'll come after Gia"
Jamal said angrily.
"Where is she now?" Nikolas asked. "I think at PCU. Wait a minute
Nikolas. Why are you so concerned about her? You developing feelings for her
ro something?" Jamal said with a smile. "Gia is just a acquaintance" Nikolas
said as he rolled his eyes . "Ok whatever man. I think we should go to PCU
to get Gia" Nikolas said as he got his car keys. "Lets go" Jamal said right
behind him.
At PCU Gia and Alison Barrington were walking out of a class. "Professor
Logan has no clue at all how to teach. Did you see what she was wearing
Gia?" Gia's mind was on Nikolas Cassidine. Thinking about his words the
from this morning: "Gia if you don't do something fast that fire, that spirit
inside of you is going to burn out" he said as he touched her right hand.
"Those eyes" she thought. Returning from that flashback Gia looked at her
right hand.
"Gia hello! Have you been listening?" Alison said with a smile. "I'm
sorry, Alison what?" Gia said with a half smile. "I was saying that Logan
doesn't know how to teach" Alison replied. "You see those tacky shoes she
had on today. They were like two decades old!" Gia said and her and Alison
burst out in laughter as they sat down in the cafeteria.
"Alison and Gia had the same class today. Now that it over they're
probably at the cafeteria" Jamal said as him and Nikolas walked quickly
through PCU campus." "Gia goes to school here now hung let's go" Ramel said
to 2 other men as he got out of the car. "How you think you did on the quiz
Al?" Gia asked feeling much more relaxed. "I probably got a B or a B+ you?
Alison replied "Logan already told me my score a A+ baby!" Gia said happily
as she and Alison gave each other high fives.
As the they did that Nikolas and Jamal walked into the cafeteria looking
around, Alison spotted them. "Hey Jamal I'm over here!" Alsion yelled. Gia
turnd around "Why is he here?" Gia said annoyed. "Hey baby, how was your
day?" Jamal said as Alison gave him a kiss. "Good. Hey Nikolas, what are you
doing here?" Alison replied. "Stalking me" Gia said with a nasty tone of
voice. "No trying to help you" Nikolas said angrily. Jamal and Alison
looked at the both of them wiht amazement. "Alison let me tell you about what
going on outside" Jamal said as he took her hand.
As they left Gia started to walk away from Nikolas he started to walk
with her. "Why don't you want me to try and help you?" Nikolas said as he
grabbed one of her wrist. "I don't need it. If I did I would have asked.
Stop trying to save everybody" Gia said in an angry tone of voice. "Why
don't you stop acting like an brat" Nikolas quickly replied.
Gia then tried to smack him but Nikolas caught her hand which touched his
face gently. Then Nikolas started to touch her face and looked into her
beautiful brown eyes and both of them holding each other kissed first soft
and then more passionate. They broke their kiss and looked at each other.
"How sweet right Ramel" Smiley replied. "Hey Boo. I'm back" Ramel said coldly
Gia and Nikolas turned around. "Stay away from me!" Gia said as she started
to shake and ran behind Nikolas. "You heard the lady Nikolas said as he
pushed Gia back.
"Who is this Gia! The new boyfriend? Not for long. Boys! Jack him up
please!" Ramel said with a laugh. "Oww dammit" Ramel said as he fell to the
floor. Jamal stood behind him some pieces of glass in his hand. Nikolas then
punched Smilely in the mouth and threw him to the wall. Jamal gave the other
guy a kick in the face. "Come on!" Nikolas said as he grabbed Gia's hand and
Jamal grabbed Alison's hand as they ran out of PCU
