Guihaia is a genus of two relatively recently discovered species of fan palms native to northern Vietnam and possibly southern China, realted to Trachycarpus. G. argyrata is the best known, a small, slow-growing species, having leaves which may have either gold or silvery colored undersides. They definitely like hot climates and have proven hardy to at least -9°C/16°F, perhaps lower, in the southeast US. So it is likely that it would grow here, given a lot of heat and summer water. The cold-hardiness of the other species, G. grossefibrosa, is not known.
