- Monterey Pop - with Ethan Hawke, Directed by Des McAnuf. It's in production. It's a Columbia Pictures film. It's a love story with the backdrop of the 1967 music fest. Due out in 2000.
- Flora Plum - Directed by Jodie Foster. Scripted by Steven Rogers. It's a 1930s love story set in the circus. About a 'freak' who takes pity on this penniless waif and puts her on the road to stardom but falls in love with her on the way. Due out in 2000 (October?).
- Conjugating Niki - Directed by Jamie Babbit. A NY society girl is thrust into poverty and forced to take a babysitting job in the Hamptons. Comedy. New Line Cinemas production due out in 2000.
- Princess Mononoke - 1997 release in Japan, October 1999 release in North America. With Minnie Driver as Eboshi (antagonist), Gillian Anderson as Moro(San's wolf adoptive father), and Claire as the heroine, San. It's an animated picture. It grossed more than $150 million in Japan. Dubbed with the possibility of a Subtitled version. Disney (Miramax) has rights to English version.
- Head Over Heels - Directed by Mark Waters. A girl (Monica Potter) falls in love with a man (Freddie Prinze Jr.) who could be a literal lady-killer. Universal Pictures takes this film. Pretty sure it's due out in 2000. Claire doesn't seem to be mentioned all that much.
- The Cherry Orchard - Based on a novel by Anton Chekhov. With John Malkovich, Tim Roth, William Hurt, and Claire Forlani. It's in pre-production.
- Dr. T and the Women - Robert Altmans' film stars Richard Gere as a gynecologist with a midlife crisis. Star studded cast. It's scheduled to be released in 2000. Screenplay written by Anne Rapp.
What Was Yet Never Became...
- Company of Angels - Director: Kathryn Bigelow. A story about Joan of Arc. Winona and Claire were on the short list and Winona recommended that Claire have the role since her age was better suited for it. Morgan Creek Pictures picked it up and it was scheduled to begin shooting in January of 1997, but Claire turned the role down on October 28th due to scheduling conflicts.
- Where The Heart Is - First I heard Claire was supposed to be Novalee Nation, a girl who gets pregnant and then dumped in a Walmart parking lot... But now Natalie Portman is said to be her. The movie is due out in 2000.
