The City Man's Staple

This hotdog cart is located outside Union Station but it is not the only one you can choose from! There are at least 3 or 4 stationed at this location almost year round. You can find hotdog vendors on almost every city block in the downtown core.

My son thinks that's just the greatest idea ever to be conceived!

History For the Buff in You

Although I have never actually rode on this particular bus tour, there are many tours available through many different companies. My favourite is the red double-decker tour!

Streetcars are another distinct feature of Toronto. The streets are a maze of rail tracks and for anyone not accustomed to driving a car there...it is a bumpy venture! Because of the heavy population, the traffic is horrendous and parking is expensive, so most city-savvy residents use the TTC even when they own a car! I should also add that Toronto's subway system is one of the most envied of all systems in the world. It is fairly safe and clean in comparison to many other cities!

History For the Buff in You

To a person from a small city, even the 'smaller' streets of the downtown residential areas seem like main drags! This picture shows Dupont Street looking west. It is a multicultural area and you can find just about any kind of store you can think of in a relatively short distance!

By the way...a little tip: When someone tells you it's only a couple of blocks down...be prepared for a long walk! A block is usually referring to each streetlight which usually means 4-6 side-streets apart!
