Ed Jovanovski is a nice person who just happens to not like coffee. Anyway, Eddie came over to the Canucks as the centrepiece in the blockbuster Pavel Bure trade. He is another young defenceman with a lot of potential. The cool thing about Eddie is that unlike most 1st rounders, or any NHL players for that matters, he didn't start playing hockey until he was 12, which means he is very talented and improved a lot, and fast. Like most people, the first time I got a good look at Jovanovski was during the 1996 playoffs. The Canucks lost in the first round to (eventual Stanley Cup Champs...ugh) Colorado, so I started watching other series. I was so impressed that this 18 year old guy was able to rock Eric Lindros.

This was a great first impression, but I think Eddie couldn't live up to expectations becasue of all the pressure the next few years, But he's still young and is still developing and is another important part of the Canucks' future.
