I put on a sweater and walked down the stairs. I glanced around for Calie, but didn't see her. I went out side and walked to the back of Nick's house. He was sitting alone on the deck. "Hi." I said walking up the stairs to the deck. "Hey, sorry I was listening to you." "It's ok." I said quietly still a little embaressed that he heard me singing. "You realy do have an amazing voice." He told me as I sat down across from him. "Your just being nice." I said lightly blushing. "No, realy you do!" "Thank you." We sat there for an hour talking about everything. "13 kids?!" Nick said shocked. "Yup, my grandparents had 13! They are all married and most of them have at least three kids." "Wow!" "Last year for christmas they gave all thier grand daughters a ring with thier birthstone. That's alot of rings!" "Is that is Nick said pointing to my middle finger. "No this one I got from my dad on my sixteenth birthday." He took my hand in his and looked at it. He then lightly pulled on my hand so I would sit next to him. As soon as I moved I got a chill and shivered. "Cold?" He asked me. "Just a little, I'm ok." He took off his nike wind breaker and handed it to me. "You don't have to do that, Nick." "Yes I do or you'll get cold and go in." I put it on and could smell his cologn. It smelled so good and I smiled. I looked back to him and he was looking at me with a smile. I looked into his beautiful blue eyes and was lost. The next thing I knew his lips were lightly pressed to mine. Without even thinking I kissed him back.

Well I guess AJ was shocked that I didn't take that walk with him. After Jenna went upstairs he showed up at the door. When I opened it he was standing there with a very sexy smile. I smiled back and he reached out his hand. I placed my hand in his and he led me out back to the beach. We walked past the deck to Nick and Brian's house and saw Nick sitting there with his head phones on. We started to walk along the water and finally he spoke. "So, why didn't you want to go for walk earlier?" He asked me. "It didn't interest me then." "Huh? And it did now?" "Yes, you gave me that sexy smile when I opened the door. What made you come back?" "The smell of your purfume."

Nick slowly ended the kiss and lightly kissed the tip of my nose. We both looked into each others eyes and smiled without saying anything. Then Nick broke the silence. I'm not moving to fast am I?" He asked me. "No." "Would you like to go to dinner with me tommorow night?" "I'd love to." Just then we heard talking and looked to the left to see AJ and Calie walking twords us. "Hey, what's up?" AJ said as they walked up on the deck. "Nothing." Nick said. "Sorry are we interupting something?" Calie asked. Me and Nick looked at each other with a smile. "No, it's ok." Nick told her. "Who wants ice cream?" Nick asked. "There is an ice cream place right down the road." He added. "Sounds good." I said and AJ and Calie agreed to come along. The guys both put on hats and pulled them down. AJ also put on his dark sunglasses. We all climbed into AJ's car and headed down the road.
We got here a few minutes later and went to the window to get out ice cream. After we got it we sat at a picknic table off to the side. Me and Nick on one side and Calie and AJ on the other. No one realy said to much while we ate the ice cream. "We better go. It's getting late and we have an interview in the morning." AJ said after we finished. "Yeah we should go." Nick added. When we got back Nick walked me to my door. Calie was still in the car talking to AJ.

We sat in his car silent for a minute and then AJ spoke. "Would you like to go to dinner some time?" he asked me. "Maybe." I told him with a little smile. He must know my little game. He smiled and slightly shook his head. "I'll give you my number." I told him. I took a little piece of paper and a pen from my purse and wrote down my number. I handed it to him and glanced at the house. I saw Nick and Jenna talking at the door and then she kissed his cheek and went inside. "I have to go now." I told AJ. As I was getting out of the car I heard him say "Wait." but I shut the door and walked past Nick to the house. I walked in and Jenna sat on the couch smiling. "Well you look happy." I told her and sat down next to her. "He's so sweet Calie." "So then is there something starting between you two?" "I think so." She looked so happy and I didn't want to ruin it, but I was concered. "Are you sure it's a good idea for you to get involved with him?" She sat silent for a minute and then stood up looking at the floor and then stood up. "I'm ok Calie." "Are you sure?" "Yes Calie. It's been a long time I think I'm ready to start dating again." I could tell she was getting upset with me, but she's my best friend and I realy was concerned. "Jenna it's only been a few months." "God Calie, I said I'm fine." She started to walk upstairs and I fallowed. "Your fine?! Bull crap, you never get mad at me like this. I don't think your ready to date this soon after everything you went threw with Gab." When I said his name I saw her slightly cringe and then I knew for sure she wasn't ready. I knew she was still haunted with all the bad memories. Befor I could say another word and without saying anything she went to her room and shut the door behind her.

I got in my room and layed on my bed staring at the cieling. I then reached under the bed and grabbed my journal. I wasn't very good at sharing things, like how I feel so I wrote everything in my journal.
~~Journal Entry~~
Is she right?? I think she may be. It realy hasn't been that long since me and Gabe split up, only three months. Some times at night I still hear his voice yelling at me and calling me names when I try to sleep. I still slightly shake some times when I hear thumping, like the noise ringing in my ears as I fell...he pushed me down the stiars in the high school. The thought of going through again scares the hell out of me! I know Nick is sweet, but so was Gabe in the begining, even sweeter than Nick. And yes he's a Backstreet Boy, but that doesn't mean he is uncapeable of being mean. Any guy can turn into a physco. I truely learned that with Gabe! I have to break the date with Nick. Not only am I affraid of being hurt mentally...and also physicly, but I'm not emotionaly ready, witch means I could end up realy hurting him.
The next day...
I didn't sleep much last night. All the thinking about Gabe again gave me nightmares. I rolled out of bed at only eight a.m.. I made coffee and watched some cartoons (yes cartoons!) A couple hours later I decided to take a shower and get dressed. After I showered and dressed Calie got up. She glanced at me through my open bedroom door and without a word she went downstairs. I finished fixing my hair and applied a little make up. I stood looking out the window and decided to go talk to Nick. I felt horrable for breaking the date. I just wanted to get it over with.
I slowly walked next door taking a few deep breaths. I lightly knocked on the door. Only seconds later it swung open and Nick was standing in front of me. He looked at me and his face lit up with that gorgous smile. "Hi Nick." "Hey, come in." He said and opened the door wider. "Umm, acually, I can't stay." "What's wrong?" "Well...see." My eyes slightly started to water and he gave me a look of confusion. "I can't go out with you tonight." I was surpised to see a smile spread across his face. "Well that's ok. Just let me know when you can." I gayzed at him for a second and the tears began to fall. I felt horrable. "I..I Just can't." I told him and ran back to my house not looking back. I didn't want to see the expression on his face.
I lounged around the house all day. I wanted to go down by the water, but I was affraid Nick would come out. Calie was gone most of the day. When I got back from breaking the date she went to look for a job. At about four I was sitting at the computer talking in a chat room and from out side I heard Calie yell hi to someone. I got up and walked to the window to see her walking from her car over to Brian who was washing his jeep. I sat back down and a few minutes later she came in. "Hey." She said softly and sat on the couch. "Did you find a job?" I asked her. "Nope." She said sadly "I'm sorry...and about last night, you were right and I'm realy sorry. I talked to Nick and broke the date off." "Just be friends. Build your trust with each other and see what happens." Calie made a cup of tea and went out back to sit on the deck. I grabbed the remote and turned the tv on. A few minutes later Calie came back in with Brian and Nick strolling behind her. "Wanna play some basketball ball?" She asked me giving me a please say yes look. "Ok." I stood and said hi to the guys as Calie went to change her clothes. We went out to play. We had been playing for a few minutes and the score was 3-10. They were kicking out butts. I had the ball and went to shoot it. When I did Nick went to block it and his arm hit my arm. I stoped dead in my tracks and had a flashback to when Gabe hit me in the arm with a bat playing softball. "Are you ok?" Nick asked lightly grabbing my arm. "Get your fucking hands off me!!" I screamed not looking at him. He quickly pulled his hand away and stepped back. "Jenna?" Calie came running over to me. I looked at Nick and realized what had happen. "I god! I'm so sorry." I said in a shaky voice and headed right into the house.

After Jenna yelled at Nick I didn't know what to do. Go talk to her or leave her alone? I looked at the guys who stood still looking shocked. "I'm sorry. I don't...I can't.." "Is she ok? I didn't..." Nick asked sounding a little nervous. "She'll be ok. I'm sorry I can't explain for her, but it was nothing you did...believe me. I'm going to talk to her." I went in the house and right to her room where she layed on her bed crying. "Calie,oh my god. I can't believe I did that!" "It's ok, calm down. Flash back?" "Yes." I sat down and wrapped my arms around her. I got her to calm down and went down stairs to make some dinner. It was almost finished when she came down with red puffy eyes, but I could tell she felt a little better.

We didn't talk much during dinner. I guess she didn't know what to say, witch I understood. She knew what I had been going through, but she didn't know how it felt. I can't believe I had that flash back. It had been a month since I had one. I guess it came from thinking of him so much lately. "I feel so bad. Is Nick mad?" I asked breaking the silence. "No he's not mad...you just scarred him a little."
After dinner I went outside down by the water. I layed on my back looking up to the dark sky. I faintly heard Nick playing his drums. "He's pretty good." I thought to my self as I layed there liste
