Chapter 7

The crowd laughed when Brian came out from behind the stage since he had a disguise on. With the wig and sunglasses he looked just like the man that ran into Bobbie and I in the mall parking lot this afternoon.

When I realized that it was the man from the parking lot this afternoon, my heart stopped. I felt my stomach flipped over. Thoughts rushed in and out through my head and I all of a sudden felt like I was going to puke. I looked over at Bobbie and she had a blank look on her face. She looked over at me and her face was a pale white. By the way she looked I could tell she felt the same way as I did. I probably looked the same, a blank look with no emotion.

We exchanged confusing looks. Christine, Gina and Erin looked at us and didn’t understand what was going on. They didn’t meet the man in the parking lot, they left before Bobbie and I did. We were the ones who met him. We were the ones who met Brian Littrell of the Backstreet Boys. The same Brian Littrell that I have loved forever. The same man that I thought I wouldn’t ever meet. The one that I met in my wildest dream. Well this morning I guess I did have my wildest dream and without even knowing it.

“We would like Cindy, Christine, Gina, Bobbie, and Erin to all come up on the stage.” Brian said taking off his wig and sunglasses.

Christine, Gina and Erin finally realized why Bobbie and I looked the way we did. They all looked at us with blank faces.

“What in the heck?” Christine said to me with wide eyes.

“Oh, my gosh!” was all I could say. I looked at the stage and the boys were waiting for us to come down.

“Come on you guys, I think they want us down there.” Gina told us.

Suddenly I got a surge of excitement. Brian was waiting on stage for me. I started running down to the stage from our seats which were on the side, then everyone else followed me.

Brian’s view~
I saw Cindy running down the stairs with her friends. She had changed into a new outfit then she had on this afternoon and she looked terrific in it.

When Kevin and Nick were announcing this practical joke to the audience I was nervous. Questions ran through my head. ‘Is she here?’ ‘What if her favorite Backstreet Boy is Nick, my best friend and she doesn’t like me?’ Now that I see her smile as she is running, all those questions washed right out of my head.

Each girl came up on stage, and each of the guys sat the girls down on a separate stool. I took Cindy’s hand and directed her to an end stool. I could tell that she was having the time of her life.
