Part 3

“Are you girls enjoying your meal?” asked AJ.
“It’s wonderful,” said Brooke, gazing into his eyes.
“How about some dancing afterwards?” said Kevin.
“Sounds good to me,” I said.
“You like to dance?” asked Nick. “Will you save a dance for me?”
“Absolutely.” I smiled.
After dinner we all hopped into the Boys’ limo and drove to a night club.
I walked in, holding Nick’s hand, anticipating the rest of the evening. Brooke and AJ followed behind, holding each other tightly. “Will you girls excuse us for a moment?” said Nick.
The guys huddled together then walked over to talk to the DJ. Since Orlando was their hometown, there wasn’t as much hype about the Boys being out in public, but Brooke and I were having the time of our lives.
She and I looked at each other in bewilderment, not in the least expecting what happened next. Nick came up to me and AJ to Brooke, the two guys leading us out onto the dance floor.
Kevin, Howie, and Brian stood in position on the stage, all five guys with mikes in hand.
The music came on and AJ wrapped his right arm tightly around Brooke’s waist. “When we turned out the lights....” he began to sing. The lights dimmed, as my sis and AJ danced closely.
I felt Nick’s arms around my waist. Soon I heard all the guys chime in with “No one else come close to you. No one makes me feel the way you do. You’re so special, girl, to me, and you’ll always be eternally.....”
As it came time for Nick’s solo, my heart stopped. He looked deeply into my eyes and sang each word as if all had been written just for me.
Brooke rested her head on AJ’s shoulder as the guys finished the song, and I closed my eyes as Nick held me closer.
When the song was over, Nick and I and AJ and Brooke danced to one more song: “Unchained Melody.”
It was the most exhilarating night of my life, but more was yet to come.
