Chapter 8

"Litt, you are UNbelieveable. Just UNbelieveable," Mike shook his head as he paced the hospital room.

She laughed. "What? You know, I'm glad he came, I feel so much... lighter, in a sense. It's like I'm back to normal after all those years. I feel like I can finally live my life."

He stopped walking and looked at her closely. There were bruises on her face, and she had a bandage wrapped around her head. A few of her ribs were cracked, but with the spirit in her eyes she looked as fit as a horse. "If you had the chance to see him one more time, what would you say?"

Litt thought for a moment, then said, "I guess it depends on what happens between now and then, and what kind of mood I'm in."

He shook his head and rolled his eyes. "You're so difficult." Suddenly he started laughing.

She raised an eyebrow. "What?"

"Nothing. You're just back to your old self, that's all. You know, being a huge pain in the ass!"

“Hey! You can just shove it, mister!" she got up from her seat on the bed and punched him on the arm.

As she walked towards the door, he frowned. "Where do you think you're going?"

"For a walk," came the simple reply.

"But the doctor should be in any minute!"

She shrugged. "It's just a check up." With that she walked out the door. She was always antsy in hospitals; they gave her the creeps.

As Litt was walking down the hallway, something caught her eye. Down at the end of the hall, a young man was just coming out of a room, surrounded by what looked like his friends. He absentmindedly glanced at her, and her blood went cold. She hurried back into her room and shut the door behind her. Leaning against it, she shut her eyes.

"What the hell did you do now?"

She opened her eyes to see Mike looking at her exasperatedly. "I'm gonna give you a heart attack one of these days, huh?"

He nodded. "Yeah, you are. Now what did you just do?"

Litt was kind of out of breath. "I didn't do anything. It's what I SAW." Shutting her eyes, her brows furrowed. "I swear I just saw Brian out there."

Brian's point of view -
"Yo Brian! Man, not again!" Kevin groaned and snapped his fingers in front of his cousin's face.

"Knock it off!" Brian snapped and pulled away from the guys. "Why did you distract me?!" He was searching frantically down the hallway, but saw nothing.

"What are you looking for?" he asked, keeping his calm.

"Did any of you guys see a girl down there?" Brian gestured to the hallway.

"No."

"I did. She was pretty hot too," AJ spoke up.

Brian sighed and bit his lip. "I SWEAR I thought I saw Litt," he whispered. "I guess I'm delusional now, huh?"

"Let's just go. You've had your check up, and now I think you should get some rest. It's just stress, man. It'll pass," Kevin assured him, and pushed him towards the elevator.

"Yeah well, it'd better be a quick nap, 'cause the gig starts at seven 'o clock, which means we've gotta be there by six," Howie reminded everyone.

The others just nodded and walked down the hallway. Brian looked over his shoulder in spite of himself, and Nick slapped him upside the head. "Quit that," Nick said, laughing.
