Sephy

lil sephy

Just look at him! How could he be evil?

A lot of people think that Sephiroth is the evil, masamune weilding, massive killer type villian of Final Fantasy VII. He wants to destroy everything and take complete control of the Planet. Sure, typical 'Final Fantasy Evil Doer', right? Wrong. There's a catch. If you've played the game long enough and are the least bit observant, you might notice this ugly alien, called Jenova. It came from another planet to the Planet in Final Fantasy VII. Why? We're not quite sure, but more than likely just to take over. (I mean, that's what most evil villians do) You encounter Jenova several times before actually destroying the nasty thing. The time that you end up fighting it at the Forgotten City (The lost Cetra city), you'll notice Sephiroth says: "You have no emotion. You are only..." and then he stops. Then, Jenova comes up and finishes what Sephiroth starts and says: "...a puppet." Cloud was being manipulated by the Jenova which was injected into him a long time ago by Hojo. Sephiroth was also being manipulated. (See?) The Jenova Hojo put in him practically took over Sephiroth at one point. The Jenova cells in him was what truly wanted to take control of the Planet, not Sephiroth.

...ooo...so mysterious... and dramatic!

An arguement came up, not to long ago. Someone e-mailed me saying that Sephy wasn't like a lil puppy to Jenova. He did have some vengance on his mind, I definitely agree. One time which you notice that he is harset, mindwise, is when you are in the flashback at Nibelheim when Sephiroth is in your party. (this is when Cloud believes that he is Zack and you are going to the mako factory in the Nibel Mountains) A soldier falls and dies. What does Sephiroth do? We'll have to leave him behind, its no use looking for him now, he said. Sephiroth would have done the same thing if Cloud or even Zack had been the one that fell. He was concerned with completing the job. He was also very concerned about learning of his own past... So, Sephiroth did have his own, unique drive. It wasn't all, complete and utter manipulation. Just wanted to clear that up. (If there's any info wrong, missing, or just screwy, tell me so that I can fix it. I haven't played the game in quite some time, although I have played it thrice.)

Ahhh, yet another argument... well, well, well. Someone said that the Sephiroth that we saw was not indeed our lovable Sephy, but a clone. I agree and disagree. Sephiroth was deep in the northern crater during the game. You find this out when you finally do get there (this is when all the Weapons emerge) and he is encased in that green crystalline shape. Well, guess what boys and girlies? He traveled through the lifestream throughout the game. I think it was Jenova's cells that allowed him to do so, either that or because of Hojo's experiments gone wrong. But in any case, that is why he could appear and disappear so easily and quickly, without a trace. Amazing huh?

Sephy! Sephy! He's the best! He kicked the crap outta all the rest!
