I'm one of the many addicted to RPing, and my MOO of choice is Harper's Tale, a game based on Anne McCaffrey's Pern novels. It's one of the largest Pern-based MOOs (there are several) and I love it! I have three characters on HT, but I'm not telling the others (although if you play, you can probably figure it out!)
Golden red curls often flying in her face, Aerrin is as spontaneous as her appearance suggests. Her small frame seems to bubble over with energy as she grins at you, her deep green eyes sparkling. Her clear eyes often reflect what she is thinking before she says a word. She carries a slight smattering of freckles across her nose, testimony to her time spent outdoors, and her lips, like now, are often parted in a wide grin. A silver band etched with designs too small for you to make out circles a slim finger on her right hand.
A deep blue tunic clads Aerrin's figure, the neckline dipping in a small 'V' that's held shut at the top by a thin tie. The sleeves stretch long and tight to her wrists, where they're cuffed for easy movement. Black pants adourn her long legs, and her feet are encased in sturdy ankle boots, just right for walking. Her hair is most often either piled atop her head in a sloppy ponytail with curls sticking in every which direction or pulled back at the sides to keep stray curls from blowing in her face. Or that's the intent, anyway. She often braids the excess and lets it hang down her back, the curls reaching nearly to her waist.
Purple and white twine together in an intricate dance, forming the knot of a Journeyman Healer.
Aerrin's changed over the years.. though she's much the same.
Golden red curls often flying in her face, Aerrin maintains some of the spontaneity her appearance suggests. A smattering of freckles across her nose adds to the illusion of carefree youth, as do her lively green eyes that can flash from anger to amusement in the space of a second - a good gauge of her moods. Hard work has kept her slender, and her frame betrays the time dedicated to her work with all the signs of one equally comfortable hiking in search of herbs or digging through faded hides. Long, slim fingers usually bear the stains of herbs and dirt, though her nails are kept clipped short and fastidiously clean. When she offers a grin, her entire face lights up, banishing any hint of tiredness or worry that might reside there as the expression attempts to coax the recipient into the same good mood. A silver band etched with designs too small for you to make out circles a slim finger on her right hand, and a golden ring rests on her left hand.
Aerrin is the proud, sometime annoyed owner of three firelizards. Her first, Elspeit, is a green with a love of pretty things and having fun. She came to Aerrin by way of a Healer/Herder hatching in the first few months she was at the Healer Hall. Stratus, her lazy blue, put forth the most effort of his life on the night he was Impressed. He just /had/ to save poor Aerrin from a rather large drudge who was threatening to carry her off after she'd attempted to save a fellow Healer from his clutches during the huge hatching known as 'Flitstock.' (The brothers three, Ole, Ole and Sven, showed up again years later.) Since then Stratus has been content to watch the world go by... and to watch apprentices to be sure they're behaving. Krahen, her bronze, was a bit of a surprise. During a trip to High Reaches to visit Jathen, she stumbled onto another hatching - and walked away with a proud, overly vain bronze, who later proved his worth in taking on tunnelsnakes. While Aerrin's quite decided that three mouths are enough to feed and three hides more than enough to oil, you never know what she'll stumble on next. And indeed, it wasn't long until Kylianna, a close friend who also happens to be a Healer senior apprentice, shoved an egg at her. It hatched into golden Aekki, who's got silver streaks marring her appearance and a matching violent streak to mar her personality. Although she adores those with rank, apprentices are seized on as nothing but a waste of space, and she'll chase them off.. however she must. (Aekki was desced just for me off of my chainsaws - an inside healer joke - and I love Kyli dearly for giving her to me. She's /wonderful/.)
From the tip of her muzzle to the point of her twitching tail, every motion speaks of a vibrant, romantic heart. Scales of soft forest green are the quilt of her wardrobe, and small faceted eyes of brillant shades, her jewlery. Her motions are smooth and graceful, but a definate bounce exists, a bounce that never seems to leave. A tiny colored stone hangs from a ribbon around her neck, her prized possesion. Words carefuly etched into the stone reveal her to be Elspeit.
Purple and white twine round one leg, the colors of the Healer Hall.
With puff of smoke and singe of ash, this lizard moves with a smooth, relaxed style. Deep saphire color curls around an ultra-skinny, almost ghost-like figure, slowly curling around his hide to encompass lizard in it's smoky haze. Taking it easy, eyes whirl laxidaizal, hazy colors, never pure nor focused, seeming almost distant. With a 'know-all', 'feel-all' swagger, his scrawny, boney head moves in a lazy weave, before his skinny, slim body follows, ending with his whip-like tail trailing. Everything about the happy way this subdued lizard moves hints that this lizard is on a higher plain, tripping along through bliss as he finds rainbow reality surrounding him. Wings, scrawny as he, take him in smoky trails of flight, curling without direction... Spars are tinged with mint on the tips, sails smokey blue, hiding a hint of a three pointed leaf.
Vibrant colors streak through the bronzen hide of this 'lizard, as loud as his frequent crow, stippling stringy muscles with a variegated hue. Reds are his gaudy neckridges, flamboyantly speckled with glossy brass. Coppery tones slide over others through his trunk, yet copper-green makes a cameo appearance over his expansive 'sails. Legs are wiry, muscled atop and slim to his talons, and tainted creamy bronze. The real spectacle lies in his tail: all the hues combine for a finale, green shooting out majestically while crimson weaves between, the undertones of copper filling in the gaps.
Purple and white interrupt the parade of colors to twine around one leg in the colors of the Healer Hall.
Molten metal races upwards, blasting forth across the silken hide. Smokey glints of grey marr the golden beauty, the rough shape of blades melding into the aureate hide. Small, beady eyes are set into the glinting hide, the cornsilk blazing down the slender neck. Darker, lurid shades dance along the considerable wings, blending into the moonlit silver hints sliding along her paws and leading to the caliginous talons. With a whiplike tail to easily slide through the air, the looming queen appears nothing more than a wraith, sinister nature rising like a mist about her.
Purple and white twist around a glint of grey on a golden leg, indicating that this 'lizard belongs in the Healer Hall.
