You find Nereia setting tables for dinner. In great excitement, you pull her aside and whisper to her what you found downstairs. Her eyes widen in wonder as you explain about the ghost, and tell her that there is a huge treasure with the body. She gives you a quick hug, and then rushes off. A few minutes later she comes back with Kershaw.

"This inn has belonged to Kershaw's family for many generations," she says. "The treasure really belongs to him."

You hadn't counted on sharing the treasure with Kershaw, and you're not all that happy that Nereia has told him about your find without asking you first, but when you think about it you suppose that she is right.

Kershaw shakes your hand happily, and claps you on the shoulder. "My friend, my friend," he says, "if what you say is true, and you have found a way to stop this ghost from ruining my business, then I owe you much. I will be happy to share the treasure with you. I will also supply a cart so that we may move the chest."

The ghost's instructions were good, and you manage to find the pig barn without any trouble. Kershaw comes along, and you bring a pine casket to hold the bones. You gently take them from the chest, where they lie in a heap on top of a glittering pile of gold coins and jewels, and lay them in the casket. Then, with Kershaw's help, you heave the casket onto the cart. There is no sign of the farmer, and you journey uneventfully back to town.

Kershaw arranges for the bones to be buried properly, and the ghost is never heard from again. He only takes enough of the treasure to make up for the lost business, pay for the burial, and do a few needed renovations around the inn. One of the things he does is to have the tunnel filled in.
