My heart was torn
As you said goodbye
I couldn’t feel, my body went numb
The pain was intense
I thought my head would explode
I would give anything to hear your voice again
To touch your face
The longing inside of me won’t wait forever
Death seems the only way to end this pain.

The wind was howling
The waves crashed angrily one after the other
The sand prickled and scattered in different
Directions on the wind
The sun cast mysterious shadows from behind the blackened clouds
A dark solitary figure arose from behind the dunes
It slowly walked towards the girl staring at the
Ocean, out of control
Her hair was swept wildly around her face
Her hands limp at her sides, as her bare
Feet padded along the hard, wet sand towards the sea.

The untamed forces of nature belted across my swollen face
The salt stung my dark, green eyes
The eyes you used to look into so often
"My little witch"
The wind biting my fingers,
Losing grip on the knife, slowly
Pain shot through my body like a bolt of lightning
The sand beneath me grew red
I felt drained and sat down on the sand

The stranger watched as
Her white dress clung to her body like a second skin
The water made it heavy and transparent
Her black hair hung limply over her shoulders
Dripping water that steadied into a constant flow
Of water, sliding down her trembling shoulders
As she lay down the tide crept up to her toes,
Washing over them gently at first
Then more forcefully with each wave
Her lithe, white body slid gracefully into the waves
Unconscious, she could make no attempt to struggle

She could see figures floating in her mind
Beyond the blackness
Beyond the mists and whispering voices
She could see her mother, in a glowing light
Holding out her hand she stepped forward into the void
Screaming, she could feel the rush of cold rush of nothingness
Drowning her slowly, as the life ebbed out of her
Like the tides
As the moon waxes, and wanes
Her life leaves her body
Departing and searching for something more fulfilling
Than what would and could have been her life.
