The bone swings back and forth
To and fro
A pendulum lost in time
It mesmerizes me
Like a hypnotists golden watch
Twinkling in the midday moon
Like a midnight sun
In rhythm with my heartbeat
Until it stops, just like my heart
And I am dead
Like whatever long-ago creature
Supplied this bone
To feed the dogs
