The new Miss Canada International is Emily Ryan of Nova Scotia who was that's year's Miss Apple Blossom Festitval.
After the pageant Emily was sheduled to represent Canada at the Miss World Pageant, but due to her decline, a new titleholder was chosen:
Miss Canada International World
Keri-Lynn Power who represented Labrador at MCI 1997 was chosen Canada's 1997 Miss World representitive and went to the Seychelles to compete. Her offical title was Miss Canada International World.
Eventually Emily Ryan lost her title and there was a new MCI:
Miss Canada International 1997

Brooke Ross, the second runner-up at MCI 1997 was chosen as Miss Canada Int'l 1997. She carried on the obligations of being Miss Canada Int'l and toured about Canada promoting the pageant and rasing money for various charities.
