The History of C.R.A.P.S.
C.R.A.P.S. was made up initially of three individuals with a true interest in the paranormal. Our interest lies in trying to prove that paranormal activity exists. The founder of CRAPS is Jeff Sink of Salem, Virginia. Jeff grew up in an old farm house during the 1970’s. When he was seven or eight he had several experiences that could not be explained. The farm house was rather large and his family did not use the upper level and it was believed that the upstairs was haunted. Jeff remembers playing near the staircase and seeing footprints in the dust that led up the staircase. No one in the family had used the stairs for several months. Jeff later came to believe that event was a childhood fantasy. Jeff started working at a local hospital during his 30’s and during his first year with the hospital he had an experience that made a believer out of him. He was standing at a nurse’s station when he felt someone tap on his shoulder. He turned around and there was no one there. The secretary swore that she had not seen anyone around for several minutes. Jeff remembers realizing that he had been touched by an entity. Jeff began reading on the subject and started to become interested in researching the paranormal. Jeff met Dave Ober, Field Manager and they started talking about their interest. Dave has also had personal experiences as a child and young adult. Jeff’s close friend Daryll Perry has become the Technical Manager for the group. Daryll has great talent in computer programming and all technology and video/audio in general which makes him an excellent asset to this group. Other members include Heather Futten who is a history major and Eddy Sink who has a background in psychology and sociology, as well as personal experience in the field. Jenn Ober has a Master's degree in Forensic Science. Donna Sink, Jeff’s Wife, has an extensive medical and management background.
