Sunday September 29th
5:00am: I started the day off real freaking early! Unfortunately, we had to be at the airport by 6am to make our 7am flight to Seattle. So, I threw on the Sean John's sweat suit and headed off to the airport. Thank God I had a ride, because I don't think you could have pried my eyes open with anything.
6:00am: Check-In! This was a pain in the butt. We had like 30 bags and we were only going to be gone for like five days or something. The reason we had so many bags is because we had to bring our headsets and our hand held mics and mic stands and cd's and everything else in the world that we would need to do a show. Believe me it looked like we were going on tour for 2 months!
7:00am: Take Off. Luckily the flight wasn't full so we each had the opportunity to have our own row to ourselves. I took advantage of that and laid down for a nap.
9:00am: Baggage Claim. Time to get all of our luggage and somehow fit it into the rental van that we had for the trip. This took some finagling but we somehow fit everything in the van and were on our way to Yakima.
9:30am – 12:00pm On the road. It was a 2.5 hour drive to Yakima so we pretty much listened to a few different cd's and relaxed until we arrived at our hotel.
12:00 – 2:00pm We had about two hours to check into our rooms, unpack, have lunch, and be ready to go to our show at WALMART.
2:00pm We arrive at WALMART and they tell us to go pick out some clothes to perform in for the show. So, not knowing what WALMART carries as far as clothes we adventure to find something to wear. It was kind of fun because we were able to get a few different things that we would typically never buy unless we got it for free. For example, we all picked up some Dickies. They were like mechanic overalls and the twins and Ryan wore them on stage one of the nights. After collecting a bunch of different items our fun had to come to an end because the show was going to start shortly.
2:45 We do a quick sound check. Then two radio stations showed up and we did some quick interviews to let people know who we were and that we were here at WALMART.
3:00 Showtime! I think this will take the cake on the weirdest place that we had to perform. Somehow we were put in between the men's slacks and the produce isle. It was hilarious; I wish we had taken pictures. We do a quick 3 song set and it's time for the meet n' greet.
3:30 – 4:30pm Meet n' greet time. This was pretty cool because we had never seen any of these people before and they had never seen a group like us perform live before. That went well and it was time to do some more radio interviews. After that we jumped into the van and went to the hotel.
5:00pm - On: Time to ourselves!
Monday September 30th
7:00am: Wakeup!!! It was time to start the day. I hopped in the shower, got ready and was down stairs in 30 minutes flat. Then had a swig of some OJ and was ready to roll.
7:30am: Both radio stations that were at the WALMART show decided to meet us at the hotel and do a "on the road with Townsend" radio bit. Pretty much they just put us on the air and said that they were going to follow us to our morning middle school show. Dom and Rye decided to hop in one of the station vehicles while Nick road with the other one. Matt and I opted to ride in our own van because we didn't feel like riding on the roof of one of the station vans.
8:15am: We arrive to the school, warm-up and do a few more quick interviews until it was time to hit the stage.
9:00 – 10:30am: Intro starts and we get all the kids hyped up! We have a pretty good show and follow with a meet n' greet. Then we head off to the office and sign some more autographs for the schools administration. Somehow in the midst of everything that is going on, Matt talks one of the secretaries into giving him a big bag of Hot Tamales, yum!!
11:00am – 3:00pm: Relax have lunch and pick out what we are wearing for tonight's show.
3:00pm: Arrive at the fairgrounds. We parked right by the main stage that we would be performing on for the 7:30pm main show. I decided to check everything out before we had to go to our sound check at the secondary stage in 15 minutes. I unloaded all my stuff in our trailer and ran over to the stage. It was pretty "tight", it had a phat system and one heck of a light setup, so I was stoked to do the night show.
3:30pm: Quick sound check at the secondary stage and we were ready to do our teaser performance at 4:00pm. Surprisingly, we had quite the crowd for this little one song show that we were about to kick off.
4:00 – 5:30pm: We performed "pour" and then once again it was time to do a meet n' greet. It went real well and we met a lot of cool people that were really excited to see us. After that people wanted us to take button pictures with them, so we decided to do a few before our 5:30pm sound check on the main stage.
5:30pm: Sound Check. We ran a few songs, marked the stage, and went over with the light guy our show so he could light the show properly.
6:00 – 7:30pm: Prep time before the show. I just chilled out in the trailer had a few pretzels and started getting ready. About 20 minutes before the show we warmed up and were jumping up and down backstage trying to stay warm. At show time the temperature was about 30 degrees, burr.
7:30pm: Were Up!! The show went pretty good, the crowd was way into it and that always helps us put on a better show. I don't want to write a review of our own show so that's all I'm gonna say about it.
9:00pm: Back to the hotel. Night Night.
