In the summer of 2003 the Triggerhappy Pacifists had played their first show. It was at FUEL 2003 and there were over three hundred people watching them. Palms sweaty and stomachs turning, they walked out under the bright lights of the stage thinking that they were going to reek worse than a five year old gallon of milk. Oh were they ever wrong. Not only were they accepted by the audience, but they were adored by them. “My mouth was so dry that I thought my lips kept getting stuck to my teeth and my tongue was basically a giant wad of cotton.”, said Josh Deane, who was singing that night, “I was afraid that I was going to ruin all of the lyrics, but it turns out that I just soured them a little bit.”
The Triggerhappy Pacifists are a group of four punks who have nothing better to do except strum away on their guitars and beat away on their drums. The Triggerhappy Pacifists are all God fearing Christians, but they would like to think that they don’t have the arrogant Christian attitude towards others. The name of their band is a symbol of these feelings. Their name, The Triggerhappy Pacifists, was created when Josh, staying up too late and on a caffeine high, began thinking about he got tired of the arrogant Christian mindset, “I have grown tired of how people say that they are Christians, and then scream and curse at poor depressed girls going into a planned parenthood building. If this is what being a Christian is about, then I don’t want to be one.” The Triggerhappy Pacifists have a different mindset about what being a Christian is all about, “We just accept everyone”, says their guitarist, Kyle Casey, “It’s weird, we’ve always been the outcasts, but now since we’ve just been making everyone feel accepted we’ve gained a ton of popularity.” But popularity has nothing to do with their motives. They are just looking for a way to share their feelings to the world through their music.
The Triggerhappy Pacifists have gone through some lineup changes within the last year. When Veronica Vance left, the Triggerhappy Pacifists wondered about what to do for a lead singer. Without enough time to find one before FUEL, Josh Deane took this position since he is the one that wrote the lyrics to the songs that they had gotten a chance to practice, and chances to practice are rare since the Triggerhappy Pacifists live in three different states. Although Josh kept the tune very well, he sounded “Like a horrible mix between Scott Stap and Elvis Presley”, says JJ Fletcher, the bands lead guitarist. Immediately after FUEL the band began searching for a new singer. Although they almost had their good friend, Mike Davis, sing for them, Mike felt as if he was called to do other things. So the band is again down to four members: Josh, Jess, Kyle, and JJ. But another recent change has taken place, a new drummer has been put into the lineup do to some conflicts. Jon Fletcher, a very talented drummer and also JJ's younger brother, has taken his sticks and drums into the lineup puttin some awesome double bass rhythm into THP's songs. These guys have a song in their hearts and a desire to change the world, one arrogant prep at a time.

short bio:
Originally, Kyle Casey, who was born in Shreveport, LA, moved a lot due to his parents being in the military.  He currently lives in Troy OH, but is moving to Morrow, GA in the middle of this year.  He has been playing guitar for almost 2 years.  He is known as the semi-quiet, and oldest person in the band.  He is also the resident hardcore guitar player, but doesn’t make up too many songs, so you wouldn’t know it.

Josh Deane is that one guy that you know from that one place, who always wore the neckties, he likes to read books when hes bored, and is always looking for ways to make his music more artistic while not making it suck, these things take up alot of his time, although he does like to go out with the ladies on the weekends. His favorite types of music are Techno, Funk, Punk, Hard Rock, and Jazz, these varied influences are what make his music so unique.
