About Us

In today's musical climate, the average listener must look beneath the surface to find the best music. Radio and MTV have become corporate platforms for run-of-the-mill pop artists, faux-gangsta rap artists, non-progressive rock and metal artists, and an overwhelming sense of "PLEASE GIVE ME SOMETHING ELSE!!!"

Our job here at The Vault is to expose you, the average consumer, to a wider variety of music that is unconventional, unaccessable, and most importantly....Relevant. Through our site, we hope to shed some light on artists and bands that deserve a chance to be heard. Some of them you may know already (i.e. Tool, 311), but that doesn't mean John Doe from Wherever, Montana does. The sense in the music industry right now is "We are losing money, we need to release music that is pleasing to everyone, thus we make a lot of money!!" Sound's ridiculous?

How often do you hear or see a political band today? Except for the occasional Rage Against the Machine song, the record companies feel that with the war and September 11, artists making political statements or otherwise speaking out is detrimental to the bottom line....money. That is why you hear Nickelback 50,000 times a day. The conventional rock, pop, or rap group has become the overall majority in music. The record companies are forcing these artists down your throat because their "studies" have shown that anything unknown or unconventional doesn't make money.

With all that said, we would like to introduce these bands and artists to you. Hopefully you will leave this site with a new found respect for the bands that are not played every hour on MTV. There is a lot of music that is going unnoticed, and that has to end now....

"Ah. In such an ugly time...
The REAL protest is Beauty!"
