THE INTRIGUE
His piercing green eyes stared at her from the shadow of the balcony door. The edge of the curtain at the base of the window fluttered around his feet as he stalked over to the bed where she laid waiting for her enigmatic lover to come and steal her away like a thief in the night. He gently sat down next to her caressing the soft skin that lay at her neck. This simple motion caused her to turn and look into those deep emerald pools as he drank in her golden gaze. The shrill ringing of the doorbell startled her that she dropped the pen that she had been writing with. The breath that she didn't know that she had been holding came out suddenly as the voice of her older brother called from the living room announcing the arrival of the man that caused her breath to catch in her throat.
"Alima, Kevin and Heaven are here," the sweet voice of Howie Dorough called from the front door of the condo that he shared with his baby sister, Alima Rae. Kevin was coming to stay with the two of them for a few days while his home gets exterminated for an infestation of termites. Kevin had brought along his sister, Heaven, who had moved to Florida a few years ago to be closer to her brother since she was staying with him at his home.
The simple thought of having green eyed Kevin Richardson staying under the same roof as her for a few nights caused Alima to shudder with fear and excitement as she left her bedroom to greet the guests that Howie had let into their home. From the moment that she had meet Kevin almost eight years ago, Alima had fallen in love with him, but for all those years, Kevin had had a girlfriend. But just recently, Kevin's girlfriend left him heart broken as she claimed to love another man instead of Kevin.
Alima entered the living room to find Kevin and Howie comfortably sitting on the couch talking as Heaven sat on a recliner next to them. Alima stood in the door watching Kevin's lips move gently as he spoke to Howie about some business before Heaven noticed her arrival into the room.
"Hey, Al, you ready for a girl's night," Heaven said noticing her friend standing in the doorway.
“Huh...Oh, yes, I am,” Alima said realizing that Heaven had told her.
Deep down, Alima didn’t want to spend time with Heaven, but with her brother, who just smiled at her as they left the room to go to Alima’s room. Alima thinks out loud, “Maybe he feels the same way for me.”
“Who feels the same way for you?” Heaven asked as they got to Alima’s room.
“Huh?” Alima said not sure of what Heaven was talking about.
“You just said that maybe he feels the same way for you. And I was wondering who that someone was?” Heaven told her.
“Oh...that someone...” Alima said getting a little embarrassed about saying those words out loud.
“Yeah, that someo...Oh my world, Al, you are talking about Kevin,” Heaven said realizing who her friend had been talking about.
“What? I was not talking about Kev...” Alima started to say, but was interrupted by Heaven’s words.
“Yes, you were talking about Kevin. Every time that I mentioned my brother’s name, you would light up,” Heaven said.
“No, I don’t,” she tells her.
“Yes, you do, girl,” Heaven told her. “And girl, don’t worry. I think that my brother may feel the same for you.”
“What? No way, didn’t he say that he was already thinking of someone else after Cassie left him,” Alima said.
“Yes, he was thinking of someone else and that someone else was you,” Heaven told her.
“No...no way,” Alima said not believing her.
“Fine, don’t believe me, girl. But I am sure that you will find it out sooner than you suspect,” Heaven told her.
“Whatever, girl,” Alima said. “Besides, let’s get off the subject of guys and find a movie to watch.”
“Okay, girl, sounds good to me,” Heaven said sitting down on the bed of her friend’s hoping that what she had told her would come true. And in a way, Heaven knew that the truth would eventually come out, but it would just take time for both Alima and Kevin to open their mouths and tell each other how they felt.

THE DEPARTURE
After watching movies for half the night, Heaven and Alima finally feel asleep with visions of the men that they love in their head. But as they get to the kitchen the next morning, Alima notices that a pair of suitcases are sitting in the kitchen doorway.
“Good morning,” Howie said sitting at the kitchen table dressed in a sweater and a pair of slacks reading the newspaper as he drinks a cup of coffee.
“Morning, Howie,” Alima said to him before asking, “Hey, Howie, whose bags are those?”
“They are mine,” Howie said to her. “I got a call from the people in New York about the condos and I have to go up there for just tonight.”
“For tonight?” Alima questioned him.
“Yeah, just for tonight,” Howie said before seeing that his sister was nervous about something. “Don’t worry, Al. Kevin and Heaven will be here with you.”
“Yeah, nothing to worry about,” Alima said before seeing Heaven wink at her from the bar, which she had sat down at after getting herself something to drink. Alima ignores Heaven’s wink as she turns around, but she gets the biggest surprise of her life as she sees Kevin, now standing in the kitchen doorway next to the suitcases, wearing nothing by a pair of pajama pants and a towel hanging around his neck. As she saw the towel, Alima looked up and noticed that his hair was wet.
Oh my world, this man was naked in my shower, Alima said remembering that she heard someone in the bathroom that was next to her room.
“Morning,” Kevin said yawning a bit as he entered the kitchen.
“Morning, Kev,” Heaven said to him.
"Hey, Heav, did you sleep well?” Kevin said as he kissed the top of his sister’s head.
“Yeah, how about you?” she asked.
“Yeah, but it could have been better,” Kevin said more to himself than to her as he grabbed a cup from the cabinet and getting himself something to drink.
“How?” Heaven asked him.
“Huh?” Kevin questioned her.
“Never mind, bro,” Heaven said.
“So, who is leaving?” Kevin said pointing to the suitcases.
“I am,” Howie said as he hears the sound of his cab honking outside.
“You are? Where you going, D?” Kevin asked him.
“New York City. I have to go and talk to some people about the condos that I am trying to sell,” Howie said grabbing his suitcases as the cab honks again.
“Oh okay,” Kevin said before thinking to himself. Alone in a house with my sister and the girl that I am falling for. Good? Or not?
“Later, Kev, Heaven,” Howie said to him before going over to Alima and hugging her. “Later, sis. I will call when I get to New York.”
“Okay, Howie,” she said to him.
“Okay, and don’t worry, girl,” Howie said to her leaving the condo and leaving her to be with her friend and the man that she was lusting over. Alima watched as her brother got into a cab waving at her as he closed the door and took off to go to the airport.
Don’t worry, my ass. I will still have to worry with Heaven here, Alima said turning and sighing to herself as she had to go back into the kitchen where her best friend and the man that she loved were sitting. You can do this, Al. Heaven is here.

THE INVITE
GREAT! JUST WHAT I NEEDED, Alima thought to herself as Heaven told her what Nick had said as he called her. It had been seven hours since Howie had left for New York and, now, here she was about to live through what would probably be the worst or the best night of her life as Heaven tells her what she was doing.
“But Heaven, you can’t leave me here,” Alima said protesting.
“But Nick needs help,” Heaven said making an excuse to go and see her MAN.
“Heaven, the help that Nick needs is something that you can’t help him with. He needs psychiatric help for that,” Alima said to her.
“Oww, Alima, that was bad. But come on. If I go over to Nick’s for the night, then you can spend the night with Kevin. All by yourself,” Heaven told her.
“But I don’t want to spend it all by myself with Kevin,” Alima said not really sure of what would happen if she did spend it with the man of her desires, her dream, and the man that she had been lusting over for so long.
“Don’t worry about it, babe. Everything will turn out just fine,” Heaven told her.
With that, Heaven leaves the condo and leaves her friend with her brother as she goes over to Nick’s place for the night to “help watch Angel and Aaron”.

THE VISIONS OF
LOVE
So with Heaven’s departure, Alima and Kevin are left together at her place that she shared with her brother for one night. Things were going all right for the night, but things started to get a little heated as Kevin walks into the bathroom needing to go to the bathroom. Kevin knocks on the door to the bathroom, knowing that Alima was in the bathroom, and that he could not use Howie’s bathroom since Howie had locked the door on them. Figuring that she just hadn’t heard him, Kevin knocks a little harder before opening the door and saying.
“Can I use the restroom for a quick second?” Kevin says to her. But Alima had her eyes closed and the water was so loud in her eyes that she didn’t even hear him come into the bathroom. Kevin notices that she doesn’t say anything and quickly goes over to the toilet. He does his ‘business’ before flushing the toilet, as he does this, he looks up and sees Alima NAKED in the shower.

As she is in the shower getting ready for an as calm night as she could with Kevin in her home, her mind began to wonder back to what she had been writing in her notebook.

Her thoughts are stopped as she hears a noise outside of the bathroom. She peeks out the shower door and asks, “Is someone there?”
As no one replies, she throws the thoughts of her mind thinking that it was probably Kevin doing something out in the living room.
“I wish that it was me that he was doing”, Alima said to herself. “Wait a minute where did that come from? I think the steam from the water is going to my head. I better get out of here.”
After turning off the shower, she gets out and goes to her room to put on her pajamas. After putting them on and drying her hair, she walks out of her room and down the couple of stairs to the living room where Kevin is. She sees that he is watching the DVD that she had left in the player.
“MOULIN ROUGE?” she asked him causing him to turn and see her standing there with a comb in her hand.
“Yeah,” he says to her as he watches her sit down on the couch, which is next to the recliner that he is sitting on. Kevin looks back over to the movie, but as they watch a movie, he could feel that she was looking at him. Yet, every time that he would look over at her, he would see that she would be staring at the TV and not.
It’s just your imagination, Kevin, he tells himself. Yet, in truth, Alima had been staring at him, but as she would see him begin to turn his head toward her, she would turn hers back to the screen.
“Good mov...” Kevin begins, but as he tries to speak, Alima ‘shhh’s him as the movie got to the part where Nicole Kidman's character, Satine, sings the song "I'll Fly Away". But as the movie get to the part where the two main characters are singing on the elephant, Alima notices that Kevin is silently mouthing along before she suddenly hears him speak the next part of the movie.

"Please don't start that again," Alima tells him along with Nicole before Kevin suddenly sings Ewan's part.

"A girl has got to eat," Alima tells him looking over to him as he sings louder this time.

"She'll end up on the street," Alima tells him.

"Well what's wrong with that? I'd like to know, cause here I go again," Kevin sings as he grabs her and begins to spin her around the room in a ballroom dance. "Love lifts us up where we belong. Where eagles fly, on a mountain high."
"Love makes us act like we are fools. Throw our lives away for one happy day," Alima sings as she sings to him.
"We can be heroes! Just for one day," Kevin sings to her before suddenly stopping as she sings the next part.
"You, you will be mean," Alima sings to him as she pulls away and turns from him.
"No, I won't," Kevin tells her.
"And I, I'll drink all the time," Alima sings as she picks up her coke and takes a drink, but almost chokes as Kevin sings the next part.
"We should be lovers!" Kevin sings her turning her to face him.
"We can't do that," Alima sings to him.
"We should be lovers! And that's a fact," Kevin sings taking the drink out of her hand and putting it back onto the table.
"No, nothing would keep us together," Alima sings to him remembering their situations.
"We could steal time," Kevin sings before taking her and once again spinning her around the room in a ballroom style dance as the two of them sing together. "Just for one day. We can be heroes, forever and ever. We can be heroes forever and ever. We can be heroes just because."
"Cause IIIIIEEEEIIII will always love you!" Kevin sings to her.
"IIIIIEEEEIIIII..." Alima sings along with him before they two of them together sing the next part. "Can't help loving..."

"How wonderful life is..." Alima sings to him before the both of them sing the last part. "Now you're in the world..."
As the dance stops, Kevin dips her over as she speaks to him. "You're going to be bad for business, I can tell," Alima tells him.
After she says this, Kevin pulls her up so that it looks like he is going to help her up - which they had agreed to do - but instead kisses her directly on the lips as his arms going around my waist pulling her back to the couch. As he sat them down, her hands went to his shirt and she pulled it open, the buttons flying every which way. Kevin smiled under her lips. She ran her fingers over his smooth chest.

THE HOME COMING
The next morning, Heaven arrived at the house with Nick about twenty minutes before Howie showed up in his cab. Heaven was in the kitchen making some coffee for herself as Howie walked in the front door of the condo.
“Morning, Howie,” Heaven said to him.
“Morning, Heav, Nick,” he said before saying, ‘thanks’ as she handed him a cup of the coffee.
“Morning, Howie,” Nick said to him.
“So, how was your trip?” Heaven asked Howie.
“Good,” Howie said before asking, “What are you doing here, Nick?”
“Just came by to see my girl,” Nick told him knowing that Heaven was not supposed to leave the house the night before.
“Oh okay,” Howie said before asking, “Have you two heard from Alima and Kevin? Are they awake?”
“Don’t know,” Heaven said before telling him. “Why don’t you relax, while I go and see if they are awake?”
“Okay,” Howie said as Heaven walked off down the hallway to find Alima and Kevin. Heaven knocked on Alima’s door before opening it and saying, “Alima, it’s time to ge...”
Heaven had to stop in mid-sentence as she saw the scene in front of her. Heaven had opened the door to find her halfway naked brother laying on top of and kissing her best friend.
"DAMN!! Howie, Nick, you gotta see this," Heaven squealed at the sight.
"What, girl?" Nick asked as the two of them got up and came over to see the same scene that she had seen.
"OH MY FUCKING WORLD!" Howie said out loud.
"Ah, fuck me," Kevin said breaking the kiss and sitting up as he heard his sister and best friend's voice.
"Uh, Kev, I think that is what she is doing," Nick said with a laugh before saying in between his laughter. "By the way, Alima, nice boobs."
"Get...the...fuck...out," Kevin said to him as he continued to move his hips up and down causing Alima's boobs to move in a circular movement.
"Okay, we will. Have fun, bro," Heaven said before getting a pillow thrown at her by Alima.
"Get...out," Alima said in between moans before Heaven closed the door behind them with her in the middle of a fit of laughter.
“How in the world could this have happened?” Howie asked.
“Howie, it was inevitable. Just think about it and be happy,,” Heaven said.
“Fine, but he better not hurt her,” Howie said.
“Don’t worry, I don’t think that Kevin will hurt her,” Nick said. “Besides he is in love with your sister.”
“In love with my sister?” Howie said.
“Yes, Howie, Kevin is in love with Alima. So, let’s leave them be and go and get something to eat,” Heaven told him before leaving Kevin and Alima to their business as she turned and walked down the hall with her arms linked with both Nick and Howie smiling to herself as she knew that her stubborn brother and friend had finally found the ones that they were looking for.
