December 21, 2000......11:15 p.m.
I was laying in my bed staring up at the ceiling as I was thinking over the past year. I smiled a little to myself before I softly turned my head to look at the man that was lying beside me. I pushed a curl off of his forehead and placed a soft kiss in his hair.
My attention turned to my middle, where I felt a soft kick. I placed my hand on my swollen tummy before I my soft grin grew larger. Brian and I were so happy that we would be welcoming our first baby into our lives in less than a month.
I slowly got off the bed carefully, trying not to wake Brian, since we both had a long day ahead of us tomorrow since, we were driving up to Kentucky to spend Christmas with his parents. I put my robe on before going to the nursery. As I got into the room, I carefully went over to the crib that was against the wall before gently rubbing my hand over the soft material of the baby blanket. I ran my hand over a small newborn outfit, wondering how such a small person could be coming into my life. I was brought out of my daydream as I felt two arms slide around my waist from behind as two hands gently covered my large tummy.
"What are you doing up, baby?" Brian's sleepy southern drawl whispered right into my ear before he softly placed a kiss just below my earlobe.
"Just admiring this stuff," I said placing my hands over top of his.
"Don't worry, baby, everything will be fine," he said to me. I softly turned my head and looked into his beautiful ocean blue eyes. I knew my love for this man would never end.
"What are thinking about?" he asked as he turned me in his arms before tucking a stray piece of hair behind my ear.
"About how lucky I am," I said to him before he tucked my head under his chin before he rewrapped his arms around me.
"Not as lucky as me," he murmured into my hair before he softly placed a soft kiss on my forehead.
"Well, lucky, we better get back to bed and get some sleep since we have that long drive ahead of us tomorrow," I said to him.
"You're right but I am thinking of something else," he said to me before he lead me to our bedroom. He helped me out of my robe before we crawled back into our bed.
As we were lying face to face, Brian softly ran his finger over my lips. To his surprise, I softly took his finger into my mouth. I could hear him groan softly as I sucked on his finger. He urged me softly and easily onto his lap, so that I lay with my belly facing him.
"Kiss me," he said with a combination of pleaing and passion. I slowly leaned forward and rubbed my mouth lightly against his. His tongue darted over my lips before sliding inside and taking me with his mouth. My heart pounded softly against my chest as I could feel Brian's heart pounding against my palms as I spread them softly across his chest.
Brian wanted to softly pull my large T-shirt over my head, but stopped at my neck as if he didn't want to pull his mouth away from mine. With a sigh, he pulled away as he tugged my shirt softly over my head. He ran his hands softly over my bare torso before moving down to my panties, that he slowly pushed low on my belly.
"Oh, Sierra, you have no idea what seeing you like this does to me," Brian softly whispered to me as he looked at me with his beautiful eyes. "But you will. Up on your knees, sweets."
"Why?" I said to him before doing as he told me to do.
"You will see," he said to me. He stroked my swollen tummy softly before kissing every inch of it. He ran his soft, sweet hands over my swollen breasts before lightly kissing my swollen, hard nipple.
"Brian, please," I pleaded with him softly.
"Come on, baby. Tell me what you want," he said to me as he slipped two of his fingers into my wet center.
"I want you, Bri...I wanna feel you inside of me," I said gasping as he thrusted his fingers in and out of me.
Brian softly removed my panties before lifting up my bottom, so I could help him remove his boxers. After they were discarded, he softly helped me take him inside of me. I softly moaned in pleasure as he filled me completely.
"Baby, open your eyes," Brian said before I opened my emerald green eyes to look into his beautiful ocean blue eyes. "You are so beautiful."
Brian softly drew my mouth to his before he softly cupped my bottom as he led us in a mind-bending rhythm. Everything but the two of us faded from my existence.
Lifting one hand, he stroked my jaw as he consumed me with his mouth and tongue, echoing our deeper intimacy. Swollen with anticipation, I felt my body tighten around him. Th combination of passion and please became too much. I shattered around him, my climax shuddering through me.
Brian gave a low groan that vibrated through my mouth, through my being, as he spilled his pleasure into me. After gaining our breaths back, Brian helped me lay on my side with a pillow under my large tummy for support. Brian softly wrapped his arms around my belly, protecting my little baby and me. "I love you," he softly whispered into my ear before placing a soft kiss below my ear lobe.
"I love you," I whispered to him before falling asleep in the warmth and love of his arms.

December 22, 2000.....10:16 p.m.
About 12 hours after we left our home in Orlando, Brian finally pulled into his parents' driveway. My doctor had told me if I really did want to go to Kentucky, we would have to drive because I am getting closer to my due date, which was in two weeks, and she didn't want me to be going into premature labor. So I agreed and here we are.
I was sleeping in the passenger seat as Brian woke me up by softly running his finger over my cheek. I opened my sleepy eyes to see his staring softly at me.
"Hey, where are we?" I asked him as I softly stretched.
"We are at my parents' house," he said to me.
"Man, how long have I been asleep?" I asked him.
"Probably about three hours," he said to me with a laugh.
"Really," I said running my hand over my belly, where my little one was peacefully sleeping.
"Yeah. Now, come on. If I know my mom, she will probably have some hot chocolate waiting for us," he said to me as he put his over mine that were still laying on my belly. Brian softly kissed me before getting out of the car. He came over to help me out of the car as his dad came over to us.
"Hey, kids, did you have a nice trip?" Harold, Sr., said to us.
"Hey, dad. Yeah, it was great. Not too much traffic," Brian said as he hugged his dad before turning to get my purse from the space below my seat.
"That's good. Hi, Sierra," he said as he hugged me before pulling back as the baby kicked him as it woke up. "Whoa, this ones got a mighty punch."
"Yes, it does," I said rubbing the spot.
"He's gonna be a good basketball player, like his dad," Harold told me.
"Whoa, whoa, dad. One thing at a time," Brian said as we were walking to the front door, where we were greeted by his mom. "Hi, mom. I need to go and get the stuff."
"Hey baby. Sure, I fixed your old room for you two," Jackie said to him before Brian took my bag up the steps. I watched him go up the steps before turning to Jackie.
"Hello, Sierra, how was the ride?" she asked me as we hugged.
"Great, but I sleep most of the way up here," I told her.
"Well, you and the baby probably both needed it," she said to me as she lead me into the living room. "Now, come on in and get warm. I will get something hot for you to drink while we send the boys to go and get the bags."
"That's sounds great," I said to her as we got into the living room, where I saw Brian's brother Harold, Jr. sitting on the couch while his wife, Sam, was sitting on the floor with their little 6 year-old daughter, Sarah, looking at all the presents under the tree.
"Aunt Sierra," Sarah said as she saw me come into the room before coming over to me for a hug.
"Hey, sweetie," I said to her as I hugged her.
"Sar, be careful," Harold said to her before getting up from the couch.
"I will, daddy," Sar said to him.
"Hey, Sierra. I better go help that brother of mine," he said to me.
"Okay," I said to him before turning to Sam, who was now standing in front of me.
"Hey girl, getting big, huh. How much longer?" Sam said as she hugged me.
"Just two more weeks," I told her after lowering myself onto the shorter couch that was in the room. I sighed to myself before softly rubbing my belly. The two of us were talking a few minutes before the guys came back into the room.
"Uncle Rok," Sar said before jumping up and running over to Brian, who came into the door with his dad and brother.
"Hey, kid. What's going on?" he said as he picked her up.
"Nothing," she said to him before softly yawning.
"Nothing. It looks to me like you are sleepy," he said to her.
"No, I'm not," she said to him.
"Yes, you are young lady. Now, come on let's get you to bed," Sam said getting up and taking Sarah into her arms.
"Okay, mommy. Night, Uncle Bri. Night, Aunt Sierra," she said. "Night, nana and pappy. Night, daddy."
"Night, sweetie," everyone told her before Sam took her upstairs.
"So, when are the rest of my sons coming by to see me?" Jackie asked Brian, who came and sat beside me. Jackie had always called all of the guys her sons since they would always just show up for a visit.
"Nick said that he and Heaven will stop by before New Year's. D, Bone, Aph, and Dawn are coming late Christmas. We dropped Kevin, Alima, and Paige off at Aunt Anne's, who said that they would come by tomorrow," Brian told her.
"That's great. Then we will all be together," she said to him before seeing me trying to keep my eyes open. "Ah, Sierra, you must be really tired."
"Yeah, I guess I am," I said to her before covering my mouth as I yawned.
"Well, come on, then. We will go on up to bed," Brian said before getting up to help me up.
"Thanks," I said to him before turning to the others in the room. "Night."
"Night, Sierra. Be careful," Jackie said to me.
"I will," I said before Brian carefully led me up the steps. The minute we got into that room, I could tell that it had been Brian's because the room was still covered in basketball stuff and different stuff from his childhood.

December 23, 2000.....10:15 a.m.
The next morning, I was awaken by the soft kiss of Brian's lips against my cheek. I rolled onto my back to see him standing there in a Kentucky sweatshirt and blue jeans.
"Morning, baby," Brian said to me. "Everybody is downstairs at breakfast already. Plus, Kev, Al, Paige, and Aunt Anne are also already here."
"Okay," I said to him. "I will be there in a few seconds."
"Would you like a little help getting dressed?" Brian said to me in a sexy voice.
"Sure, if you would like to help, your sexy, pregnant wife. I don't think that she will mind at all," I told him as I sat up.
"She won't, huh?" he said to me.
"Not at all," I told him.
********
About 20 minutes later, Brian and I came down the stairs hand in hand to see everyone still crowded around the table eating breakfast. Kevin was getting something out of the fridge as he saw us.
"Here, the love birds are," Kevin said before getting popped on the head by Alima.
"Be nice," Alima said to him.
"I was," Kevin said as he sat back down.
"Good morning, sweetie. Did you sleep alright?" Jackie said to us as Brian helped me into my seat.
"Yeah, just the usual kicks in the ribs," I said as I rubbed my large tummy before feeling Brian's hand on mine.
"He's just telling his mommy that he is awake and hungry," Brian said to me.
"He? So you know that it is a boy," Jackie said to us.
"No, we don't know. Brian just thinks that it is gonna be a boy," I told her.
"I know that he is gonna be a boy. You see, I told Kevin and Alima that they were gonna have a girl and look, here she is." Brian said tickling his little 2-year old cousin, who was sitting beside him.
"So, what is everyone doing today?" Anne said to us.
"Well, us, men are gonna stay here and watch the Kentucky game," Harold, Sr. said to her.
"Of course, the big UK vs. UL game," Alima said to us.
"Of course, we gotta support our home team," Brian said to her. "We never know, maybe one day, my baby boy may be on that team."
"Whoa, boy, the baby's not even here and you already have a career for him or her," I said to him.
"I said maybe one day," Brian said to me.
"So, what are you ladies gonna do?" Harold, Jr. asked us.
"Well, if it is cool with you, ladies, I figured that we could go and do some Christmas shopping," Jackie said to us.
"Sounds good to me," I said to her before the other ladies agreed.
"But.." Brian said but I stopped him.
"Don't worry, Bri. I will rest if I get tired, plus I do have my cell phone with me," I told him.

December 23, 2000........6:45 p.m.
Later that evening, the snow was softly falling around Brian and I as we were taking a carriage ride through a park, that had Christmas lights, and around the whole city. We had been here for only a day and a half, but I was already feeling more relaxed than I had been. I was brought out of my dream as I heard Brian's soft voice.
"Hey, sweets, what are you dreaming about?" Brian asked as he saw that I was off in another world.
"Nothing particular," I said to him.
"Okay," he said to me. "But you are alright?"
"Yes, I am. I feel great and I have everything I need in this world," I told him.
"Really. And what's that?" he asked me.
"Well, let's see. I have a wonderful husband that loves me," I said to him.
"That's true," he said before softly kissing the tip of my cold nose.
"A sweet little baby on the way," I said to him.
"Who will look just like his mom?" he said to me.
"So you still think that it will be a boy," I said to him.
"Yeah, I do. But I would be happy with a girl, too," he said to me.
"Yeah," I said to him as I leaned over and laid my head on his shoulder, enjoying the rest of the ride before the driver took us back to where we had parked our car in front of the cafe that we were gonna meet the gang, who had arrived while us ladies were shopping, since they had all gone shopping while we went on our ride. As the carriage stopped, Brian helped me out and paid the driver before getting hit in the back by a snowball. I turned around to see Nick and AJ laughing their butts off. The two of them were standing there with their hands full of snow, while the rest of the gang was waiting for us.
"Whoa, that means war," he said before scooping up a big ball of snow and running after them before hitting them with it. They tried to get Brian back but hit Howie and Kev instead which caused the five of them to get into a big snowball fight. The five of us girls watched them for a few minutes laughing before I told them that I was getting cold.
"Come on, girls, let's go into this cafe and get something hot to drink, while our childish men play their little war game," I said to them.
"Yeah, come on," they said before we went off into the cafe. The five of us got a large booth near the large window before we ordered a couple of hot chocolates. The five of us were sitting there chatting as the guys finally came into the cafe as they realized that we were gone.

December 23, 2000.......9:45 p.m.
The five of us arrived back at the house to find that everyone was waiting in the living room with hot chocolate to warm us up with. Everyone was crowded around as Jackie spoke.
"Well, it is a family tradition that all of us get together and talk for a little bit. And hope that we may get a little singing from you, guys," Jackie said.
"Ahh, Mom, we sing all year," Brian said moaning and groaning.
"Brian, listen to your mother. You guys can at least sing one song," I said to him. "It is Christmas and we don't need any grinches."
"Okay, we can do one. And that is all," Brian said before he started.

"Good job, baby," I said yawning as I clapped with everyone else.
"It looks like someone had a long day," Jackie said.
"I guess I did," I said before Brian helped me stand up.
"We will see you guys in the morning," Brian said as he lead me up the steps as we told everyone good night.

December 24, 2000......3:15 p.m.
Christmas Eve, I was laying in Brian and my bed taking a nap, since I had felt like crap all morning, as I was awaken to the small pain that I had in my back all morning had moved to my lower stomach. I softly rolled over on my side to see if the pain would go away. When it didn't go away, I knew what it was. It was a contraction that had started in my back and had now worked its way to the front. When it was over, I softly put my hand against Brian's shoulder, who had come to lay with me. I softly pushed against him which caused him to open his eyes and look at me.
"Hey, sweets, what's wrong?" he said seeing the look on my face.
"Now, don't get alarmed but I just had a contraction," I told him.
"You what?" he said to me as he sat up. "When?"
"About 2 minutes ago," I told him.
"Come on, babe. I'm taking you to the hospital to get checked out," he said to me as he sat up on the bed and began to put his shoes on.
"Whoa, Bri. I'm fine. See, I can stand up and walk -," I told him as I sat up in the bed before softly standing up. But as I tried to walk another contraction had hit me, this one caused my water to break. "Ahh."
"Sierra," he said as he dropped his shoe and quickly came to my side. "Sierra, what happened?"
"Bri, my water broke," I told him in gasps as I tried to breath through the contraction and since I was getting a little nervous because I was three weeks early.
"Shh, Si. It's okay. Just calm down," he said to me.
"Brian, what was that noise? Oh my gosh, Sierra, what's wrong?" Jackie said as she came up the steps as she heard the noise.
"Mom, Sierra's in labor," Brian said as he helped me to the door as the contraction was over.
"Oh my gosh. HAROLD, HELP US. SIERRA'S HAVING THE BABY," she called down the steps. Brian's dad ran up the steps and came over and took my other arm around his shoulder as they helped me down the steps, while Jackie told everyone what was going on.
"Here, dad. Take my keys and get the car started," Brian said handing him the keys as we got to the bottom of the steps.
"Sure, son," he said as he took the keys. As Brian was helping me to the front door, I had to grab the door of the living room as another contraction hit me. I held onto the door as I started to do my breathing that I remembered from our Lamaze class.
"That's good, baby. In and out," Brian said as he was rubbing my back during the contraction, which was helping me. The contraction lasted for almost a minute before letting up as Brian looked at his watch. "Four minutes apart, last 50 seconds."
"We're cutting it short," I said to him.
"Don't worry, sweets. We're gonna get you there before the baby comes," he said to me as Harold and him helped me out of the house and to the car.
"Here you go," his dad said as he handed him the key.
"Dad, would you drive? I'm gonna stay back here with Sierra," Brian said as he got into the backseat with me.
"Sure. Just hang on," he said. He went and grabbed his jacket after telling Jackie that he was going along with us before getting in and driving us to the hospital. Just as we got to the Emergency room entrance, another contraction had hit me.
"Come on, Si. Just breath. That's right," Brian said as he rubbed my back and belly softly. When the contraction was over, the orderly and Brian helped me on lay on a stretcher that the orderly had brought out before we were on our way.
*******************
December 25, 2000.......12:45 a.m.
"Oh my god, Brian help me. Make it stop, it hurts too much," I cried as the contraction gripped my body in pain. I had been in labor for the last 9 hours.
"Okay, Sierra, you're now 10 cm. We're gonna get you ready to push, now," the on-call OB said to me as she smiled.
"Oh, crap, I can't do this, it hurts too much," I moaned to Brian.
"Come on, Sierra. You're doing so well, we've gotten this far. Just a little more and it will be all over," Brian said as he lifted me up and slid into the bed behind me, rubbing my back and neck, then pulling me back against him as he massaged my stomach. When he felt it tighten again as another contraction hit, he rubbed my back again. Somehow it relaxed me, and the pain lessened.
"Okay, Sierra, on the next contraction, I want you to try and get three good pushes into it. Okay," the doctor said as she put my feet in the stirrups.
"Ohhhhh," I moaned as I felt the next contraction coming.
"Okay, Sierra. Push, girl. That's good. I can feel the baby moving down. Come on, girl, push a little harder. Just a little more. And relax," she said as I relaxed against Brian.
The next contraction took me by shock that I had to scream as I felt my baby move further and further down. "Ahhhh," I screamed as I gripped Brian's hand.
"Okay, Sierra, push. Come on, girl. The head is coming," she said as I pushed as hard as I could.
"Owwww, this hurts like crap," I screamed as the head moved further down as I pushed.
"Okay, Sierra, I'm gonna help the baby get it's head out, so you don't tear. Just don't push for a few seconds," she said to me.
"Oh god, that hurts. Please just hurry. Owwwww," I screamed as the forceful pain of the contraction was accompanied by a serve burning sensation.
"Okay, Sierra, I want you to give me a little push and this will be the worst part. Deep breath and push, girl. That's it," she said to me. "Just a little more."
"Ahhhhh," I screamed in pain as I felt my baby's head slipped free.
"Okay, Sierra, just one more little push and we should have the first Christmas baby," she said to me.
"I can't. I'm too tired," I said as I leaned back against Brian.
"Baby, listen to me. You just have to push one more time and then we will have a beautiful little baby," he said to me. Brian's soothing words and voice helped me find my strength.
"Okay, girl. This is it. Push," the doctor told me as I held onto Brian's hand and gave one good, hard push before I felt the baby slip free. The baby immediately proved that it was very upset with it's new surroundings by letting out a loud, shrill scream of fury. I fell against my pillow, tired, as Brian got up to see the baby.
"Sierra, it's a boy. He's a big bouncy boy," Brian said to me. I softly started to cry as I watched as the doctor let Brian cut the baby's cord before a nurse took him over to be cleaned and weighed as the doctor got the afterbirth and cleaned me up.
"8 pounds, 2 ounces," the nurse called out as she weighed my little boy.
"Did you hear that, sweetie? He's bigger than I was when I was born," Brian called to me before he took our baby into his arms. "Come on, buddy. We're gonna go and meet your mommy."
"Oh my gosh," I whispered softly as Brian laid our little boy into my arms. "He's so beautiful. I love you, Bri."
"I love you, too," he said before softly kissing me before we just watched our little boy. Our little boy had Brian's curly dirty blond hair and my darker skin color. But I was the most amazed as he opened his little eyes to show his beautiful ocean blue eyes.
"Oh my gosh, look," I said to him.
"He's beautiful, isn't he?" Brian asked me softly. "So, what are we gonna name him?"
"I don't know. What do you think?" I asked him.
"How about we name him Devon Thomas?" he said to me. "He looks like a Devon."
"Perfect. Happy birthday, Devon," I said to our little boy.
"And Merry Christmas," Brian said to me. I looked up at the clock to see that it was 1:37 a.m. on Christmas Day.
"Merry Christmas, sweetie," I said to Brian before we shared a sweet, passionate Christmas's kiss. We laid there a few more minutes before the nurse said that she had to take Devon to the nursery since they had to move me to a regular room.
**************
December 25, 2000....5:00 p.m.
After taking me to a regular room, I had fallen asleep because I had been exhausted from the whole labor and delivery. I was awaken to the sound of Brian's soft voice telling me that we had company.
"Sweets, wake up. The guys are here," he whispered softly in my ear. I opened my eyes to see Brian looking at me.
"Hey, babe. I must have fallen asleep," I said to him before stretching easily since my whole body still was sore from Devon's birth.
"That's okay," he said to me.
"Hey, guys. What's going on?" I said to Kevin and Alima, who entered with Paige.
"Nothing much. But look, we brought the rest of the gang, too," Kevin said opening the door to show Howie, Aph, AJ, Dawn, Nick, and Heaven.
"Oh my gosh, I thought that you guys weren't coming until later tonight," I said to them.
"Well, we decided to come a little earlier. So where is the baby?" Howie said to me.
"Here, he is," a nurse said from the door.
"Thank you," I said as I saw that she was pushing Devon's bassinet into the room.
"I guess someone wants to say hello to his aunts and uncles," the nurse said before softly taking my little boy out of the bassinet and laying him in my arms. "I will come back by in about an hour. But he has been crying so I did leave a bottle for him on the shelf."
"Thank you," I said to the nurse before she left the room.
"So who is this big boy?" Kevin said to us.
"Well, gang, we would you to meet our baby boy, Devon Thomas," Brian said to them as he sat on the bed next to me.
"He's beautiful, sis," D said as he was standing on the other side of me.
"I know," I said to him before hearing a knock at the door. "Come in." I was shocked as I saw my mom and dad standing in the doorway with Brian's parents.
"So, is this where the party is?" my mom said.
"Oh my gosh, Mama, Dad, what are you guys doing here?" I said to them.
"You think that we would want to miss the chance to meet our grandson on his birthday," my mom said as she hugged me softly.
"Come on, my sweetie. We will go and meet your grandparents," Brian said as he softly picked up our little boy and carefully took her over to where my dad and his parents were standing. "Well, grandmas and grandpas, this is your newest grandchild to spoil, Devon Thomas."
"Oh my gosh, he's so beautiful," Jackie said to him.
Everyone stayed in the room for about another hour, when the nurse came in and said that visiting hours for this ward was over for now. I hugged everybody as they congratulated us before they left for the day saying that they would be by to pick us up in the morning.

January 5, 2000.......3:14 a.m.
Brian and I were sleeping in our bed in Orlando as we heard Devon start to cry. Brian reached over and said, "I will go get him, sweets."
"Okay," I said to him as I watched him leave the room to go and get Devon. The day after I had Devon, he and I were allowed to leave the hospital. Brian, Devon, and I stayed in Lexington with his parent's until the second of January, when Brian's manager called and told him and the boys that they gotta come back to fix some problems with the new album. So we came back to our home in Orlando.
I laid there for a few minutes waiting for Brian to come back as I heard the soft sound of music playing. I got up and went to find my boys. I found the two of them in the living room. Devon was laying against Brian's bare chest as Brian was laying his head softly on Devon's. Brian was softly sing to him as he softly swayed. I stood in the doorway watching them for a few minutes until Brian noticed me.
"Sorry, I woke you up, but this usually helps him sleep," Brian said softly to me.
"That's okay," I said as I wrapped one arm around his waist and laid the other gently on Devon's back. I laid my head on Brian's shoulder listening to him sing to our baby boy before Brian spoke to me.
"Thank you, sweets," Brian said to me.
"For what?" I said to him.
"For this little guy, for your love, for you," he said to me.
"Well, thank you, too, baby," I said before softly kissing him.
"I love you, Sierra Littrell," Brian said to me.
"I love you, too, Brian," I said to him.
Afterwards, the two of us just softly swaying to Louis Armstrong's soulful voice as we watched our son peacefully sleeping against his dad's chest.
