"BOOTS,BOOZE & SEASIDE REBELS"

The Sedated were formed in Folkstone,Kent in early 1981.The first line up was Paul Knight-vocals,Richard Carlise-guitar,Clive Gibling-bass and Malcolm Berry-drums.Clive left the band before they played any gigs and was replaced by Bob Beasley. They took their name from the Ramones song 'I wanna be sedated'.The band recorded two demos and two numbers off their second tape('Take him away' and 'Rebel') ended up on the 'United Skins' complition LP,along side Skrewdriver,The warriors and the Accused amongst others. They also released a 5 track tape entitled 'Boots, booze & seaside rebels' which included the two songs off united skins plus 'No solutions','Here to stay' and 'Won't listen to you'.This tape was released as a limited edition single in 1997 on Final vinyl records,Germany.Gig wise, the band played with the likes of The Dark,The Modettes,Anti establishment and a host of others. They also supported Peter & the test tube babies at the infamous Skunx club in 1982.Sedated pretty much called it a day in 1983,and only Richard Carlise is still playing music today. As well as playing in the band, bassist Bob and singer Paul also did 'Ready to ruck' fanzine which later turned into 'New mania'.Both were two of the first oi fanzines and if you look at some old oi records from that era you'll see new mania name checked on a few.Bob would also like to know if anyone has copies of issue 4 & 6 as he would like a copy.If anyone has any info, email me and i'll pass the message to Bob...Sedated 1981-1983
