Brian Molko

Born in Belgium, Brian spent his early years living in Liberia and Lebanon before ending up at an American school in Luxembourg. Stefan was also at the same school but the only time they ever spoke was during rehearsals for a school play. At the age of 17, Brian moved to England to study at Goldsmiths College in London, where he gained an acting degree. Whilst at college he met Steve Hewitt (through a mutual friend), and the two formed a lasting friendship and spent their evenings playing at local pubs. In 1994 after bumping into Stefan at South Kensington tube station and inviting him along to watch one of their performances, it was Stefan who suggested that Brian should do something more serious with his music and so Placebo was born.
