After a month break, the European leg of the tour kicked off in Edinburgh at the 3000 seat Playhouse Theatre on September 26th (there is a possible unconfirmed date on the 24th in Amsterdam though there is no solid evidence this show took place and if it did no recording has surfaced). Night two of the European leg stays true to the established setlist with one notable and very welcome addition. Jackson introduces “Lives In The Balance” as the next song but the sequencer used on the song fails at the start. After a short time waiting for it be repaired Jackson says he has another song he’ll play that was requested earlier. We then get a slightly tentative but lovely and rare 1980’s playing of “The Times You’ve Come” complete with a mistake in mixing up the verses Jackson comments on. From what I can find this may be the only time this was played between the mid-1970’s to the mid-1980’s. As with the first night, the recording does not appear to be one of the more commonly circulating shows and the setlist doesn’t appear in any Jackson live setlist databases I’ve seen. It required a very small pitch adjustment and I’ve removed any extreme audience noises. Quality is almost identical to the previous night to the point I’d guess the taper(s) sat in the same area each night. The crowd is a bit more boisterous this night but this all takes place away from the taper. Artwork is also included…thanks to my old friend MR for supplying this series of shows. mjk5510
