From the moment one listens to the haunting guitar lines at the beginning of the first song on Lither's debut demo Perfect Reflections Fade, one knows that Lither is a band that has definite ability. Joe Paris, the lead singer, flawlessly switches back and forth from a semi-rap breakdown to a full melodic piece of the song. The guitar work is excellent, and the lines that John Suarez plays are creative and well-executed. The bass lines, also arranged by John Suarez are in perfect balance with the emotional vocals of Joe Paris and the guitar lines. Bassist Marc Sanzari, at the time of the this release, plays with consistency similar to that of John Suarez. His bass work is really the backbone of the musical styles that switch back and forth through the song. On drums, Paul Yurkosky plays well, and the end of "So Much More" truly shows off a great talent at his position. He and Sanzari both split ways with Lither shortly after the recording of this demo.
In the second song of Perfect Reflections Fade, "Mask", Joe Paris's powerful vocals again take center stage as he displays the ability to help the transitions that characterize Lither's songs. Also, Joe shows off his excellent scream, only a few times, but one can be sure that future Lither songs will be based around Paris's screams. John Suarez again has written an exceptionally fitting pair of guitar and bass lines to complement the vocal abilities of Joe Paris. Again, Suarez makes excellent transitions and plays with great talent and ability. His musical abilities are clearly evident throughout the entire demo. Sanzari and Yurkosky also do their part in this song, providing the foundation for the singer and guitarist to work off of. Yurkosky's drumming is very tight throughout both songs, and he shows off his great abilities to switch from high speeds to lighter bridges. Throughout both songs, the talents of this band make the listener desire more from a recently revamped Lither lineup. One can only wonder what the future has in store for this band.
