ABOUT OUR PROGRAM

Founded in 1998, the Burnsville Home School Band is in it's fifth year serving the needs of families with home schooled students. The program is taught by an experienced teacher who is licensed to teach music in the State of Minnesota.
Our band program at includes half hour weekly group lessons and band rehearsals. It serves home school students from the fourth grade through high school who play band instruments. All Lessons and rehearsals are on Mondays at:

Last year in addition to our regular program , students in our groups played music that was custom arranged for them. They received free play along music and recorded a holiday CD to take home to their families. Students were able to check homework assignments and take practice exams that were posted on this web site. This year new activities will be added.

OUR PERFORMANCES

In addition to concerts held at our band site, students perform at a massed band festival in May. Experienced students in 6th through 8th grade can audition for a place in an honor band with other home school students in our area. We also provide opportunity for solo and small ensemble performance.
