Fiction Plane rock CBGB’s
Fiction Plane's performance at CBGB's last week was nothing short of spectacular. It was clear from the song they played during sound-check that it was going to be a good night for Fiction Plane. And they didn't disappoint. Despite crowd that seemed to be glued to their seats and some minor sound difficulties, their set was impressive.
Their grunge influenced indie rock has a unique sound. From their first song, "Listen to My Babe," to the last song, "Wise," their sound was tight. Fiction Plane's level of talent is high. This was displayed when lead vocalist and guitar player Joe Sumner played bass while bassist, Dan Brown, played keyboard. Steton Daunt on guitar and Pete Wilhoit on drums push the talent level higher. The chemistry between members adds energy to their performance. Typical to any show at CBGB's there was a token drunk guy in the crowd, and the several amusing exchanges between him and Sumner added some unexpected humor to the set.
This is a band you will like after listening to their album but love after seeing them play live. They bring the songs alive on stage and the emotion in them shines through. Fiction Plane has everything a band needs for success and it seems imminent.
