"And then she just walked out while I was talking to her!" Melodie dragged on.
Nick pulled his notebook out of his locker, and shut it tightly. He turned to Melodie.
"The girl was just defending herself." He said, trying to reason with her. Melodia just placed her hands on her hips and huffed.
"There she is! Go do something!" Melodie screeched as Allie walked past them. She pushed Nick into her.
"Ow!" Allie shouted, backing away from the person who just knocked into her. She gasped when she saw Nick Carter, with Melodie behind him grinning like a chesire cat.
"Sorry.." Nick mumbled. Melodie snorted.
"No he's not." She muttered. "Allie you are going to pay."
Allie rolled her eyes, and rolled up her sleeves.
"Honestly Melodie, this is really stupid. The only thing I did was defend myself, how does that effect you? Don't you have better things to do then try and get your boyfriend to pick a fight with me? You have more time on your hands then I thought." Allie said, then covered her mouth with her hand when she realized what she had said.
Nick tried not to laugh, Allie was right.
"That is it." Melodie said through clenched teeth. She balled up her hands into fists. Nick stepped in between them.
"Melodie stop, just stay out of eachother's hair." Nick resolved, pulling Melodie away.

"Honey, why don't you go to that basketball game tonight?" Mrs.Harper asked Allie. Who was sitting at the table, writing away.
"I don't think so." Allie said blankly, thumbing through the the pages of her textbook.
"You never go out. It would be a nice change, besides you don't really want to stay in and do homework all night do you?" She asked.
"I plan on it." Allie spoke shortly. She continued to scribble down her notes when the phone rang. Her mom tapped her on the shoulder. "What?"
"The phone is for you, it's Darla." She said, passing the cordless to Allie.
"Hey Dar." Allie said.
"Allie I think we should go to the basketball game tonight. I don't feel like doing homework." Her friend suggested. Allie rolled her eyes.
"Why does everyone want me to go to the basketball game all of a sudden? We've never been before, it's a boring spirt anyways." Allie muttered, she heard her friend laugh.
"Al, how would you know? You've never been to a game." Darla said.
"Fine." Allie groaned, shutting her textbook.
"Great! I'll meet you at your house at 7 then. Wear something nice!" She chirped, before hanging up the phone.
"You don't need to wear a dress to a basketball game." She said to herself as she packed up her stuff and headed upstairs.

Allie opened the door to her friend. She looked at Darla who was wearing a flowered skirt and blouse, and then looked at herself with her faded jeans and plain white t-shirt.
Darla pushed Allie to the side.
"This is why I came over early, I knew something like this would happen." She said, pushing Allie up the stairs.
"What?" Allie asked, confused. Darla went into her bedroom, sorting through the closet.
"Here." She said as she stepped out laying a jean skirt and yellow polo shirt on her bed. She went back into the closet tossing a jean jacket and black sandals out.
"Put this on and then I'm going to do your hair and makeup." Darla ordered stepping out of the room.
Allie raised her eyebrow, but obliged throwing on the clothes Darla had picked out.

"All done!" Darla announced, obviously pleased with her creation. Allie looked up into her mirror slowly. Surprised at what she saw.
Darla had gone light on the makeup. Putting only some blush, eyeshadow and a little bit of lip gloss. She had curled her hair a bit, and placed butterfly clips in it to hold it back.
"You look great." She commented, Allie bit her lip.
"I guess....you did do a good job." She said with a smile. "Thanks"
"No problem, but now we really have to get going. The game starts in twenty minutes!" She said, pulling Allie out of her chair.

Allie watched patiently as the cheerleaders finished up. Melodie had been winking at almost everyguy in the stands, Nick didn't see because he was in the changing room. But he probably wouldn't have cared.
'What a weird relationship those two have.' Allie thought to herself. Darla grabbed her arm.
"Here come the hotties!" She squealed, Allie couldn't help but giggle. She watched as Nick stepped out last, receiving the most applause. She had to admit...he was pretty cute.
She blinked when he looked up to her side of the stands. It seemed as if he was looking at her, she shook those thoughts out of her head. 'You don't not have a thing for Nick Carter, You do not have a thing for Nick Carter' She repeated in her mind.
Darla nudged me and pointed to something.
"Look at Nick's play thing over there." She said, I looked over to see Melodie flirting with some guy, twirling her hair and touching his arm. I then looked to Nick who was playing. He never even glanced in Melodie's direction.
"I saw you ogling him." She said proudly. I looked at her shocked.
"Me? No way." I laughed it off. Darla gave me a look. "He's kinda cute."
"Kinda?" She prodded. I nodded. "Right Al, you should talk to him after."
"No way! Have you failed to remember that he is not only the star of the basketball team, but the most popular guy in this school. Not to mention he has a gorgeous girlfriend who is a major bitch but also the captain of the cheerleading team!" I ranted. Darla just chuckled.

Nick grabbed his bottle of water from the bench, and stepped out of the locker room and into the hallway. It had gotten pretty quite. Even Melodie had left, she had to go home and give her self a pedicure, that was always the excuse she used. Nick rolled his eyes at the thought.
He looked up when he heard footsteps. He peered closely at the female who was walking past him slowly. 'Nice' He said to himself with a smirk. He gulped when he realized it was Allie Harper. "No way!" He said outloud, without realizing it.
"Excuse me?" She asked, stopping in front of him. He sucked in a breath. He had never realized how beautiful she was. How could a girl like her not be popular. She had long dark brown hair, it always looked so silky. He noticed she had curled it tonight. And she had violet eyes, which made her so exotic to him. She was the only girl in school with that color of eyes. She was pretty tall, slim and always seemed to be tanned.
He supposed the reason why she wasn't popular was because she always wore the same outfit. Jeans and a plain t-shirt, no makeup, and was always doing her homework. But those were the things he liked about her.
"Nothing, sorry, talking to myself." He grinned. She smiled slightly. "So, I've never seen you at a game before" He said, trying to make conversation.
"Yeah, well, my friend forced me to come." She then realized how harsh that sounded. "Well didn't force me, exactly....But I actually really enjoyed it. You're a great player." She said, then blushed. "As if you don't hear that enough."
"Thanks." He smiled at her. "I'm sorry about the whole Melodie thing. She gets so uptight sometimes."
"Oh no problem, I'm used to it." She said quietly. "Anyways, I should get going. Darla just went to the washroom." Nick nodded, and licked his lips.
"I'll see you around school then? I guess." He said, suddenly becoming shy. Allie smiled.
"Yep, guess so." She replied, as Darla walked out of the girl's washroom. She smiled when she saw Allie talking to Nick.
"Hey Nick." She said, he nodded at her.
"Hey."
"Um, we should get going Dar." Allie said, waving to Nick and pulling her away from him.
