-Chapter One

Allie Harper rushed into class, stopping to quickly pick up all her loose paper's.

"Oh my god, Oh my god..." She muttered to herself. She glanced at her watch and winced.

"Miss Harper!" A voice boomed. She bit her lip and turned around, facing her teacher, Mr. Friedle.

"Would you like to tell the class why you are 15 minutes late!" He demanded more than asked.

Allie looked around the classroom as everyone stared at her. She set her books down on her usual seat.

"Uh, I got caught up..." She mumbled. She heard the cheerleaders giggling at her and slid into her seat, nervously.

"I'll see you after class." He spoke and then turned to the blackboard.

Melodie slowly ate her salad, and watched in disgust as her boyfriend Nick hungrily ate away at his pizza.

"Nicky," She whined.

Nick rolled his eyes, and wiped his mouth with a napkin.

"What, Mel?"

"Do you know how much fat is in that pizza? Honestly, I'm going to get salad for you next time. And the way you wolf it down as if it's your last meal for eternity, it isn't attractive..." She babbled on, and Nick tuned her out.

The only reason he dated her was for his image. He was the star of the basketball team ,and she was the head cheerleader. But other than that, she had nothing going for her. Sure, she was gorgeous. But she had makeup to thank for that, he preferred the more 'natural' looking girls.

He could never hold an intelligent conversation with her. Actually he couldn't talk to her about anything that required thinking. Maybe for a minute, if he did all the talking.

And the fact that she was so obsessed with what she looked like bugged the hell out of him. She always whined that she was fat, looking for compliments, and quite frankly he was sick of it. He had to wait while she forced the lunch ladies to put together a non-fat salad for her.

"Nicky, I have to go touch up." Melodia said, breaking him out of his thoughts.

'Like hell you need to touch up, you have enough makeup on your face to last you a lifetime' He thought to himself but just simply nodded to her.

Allie washed her face in the girl's washroom. She looked up when she heard the door open and watched as Melodie Wagner strutted into the room, unloaded her purse of makeup.

She noticed Allie watching her, and turned to glare at her.  Allie quickly looked away and grabbed her books.

Melodie stuck her leg out slightly as Allie rushed to get out. She smirked when she gasped and fell to the floor. "Watch yourself." Melodie said smugly.

"Leave me alone..." Allie said quietly, grabbing her books. Melodie dropped her tube of lipstick, and turned around to look at her.

"Excuse me?" She asked, unbelieving.

"Nevermind." Allie said firmly. Melodie stepped in front of her, blocking her way.

"Nobody talks to me like that. And I mean nobody, wait until I tell my boyfriend this!" She said in a shrill voice.

Allie bit her lip. Melodie's boyfriend was definetly not one she wanted to mess with. He was the most popular guy in school, tall, muscular, and a real jerk. She had never talked to him but she learned about him and things he did through her friends.

"I'm sorry." Allie said quietly, holding her stuff tightly to her chest.

"I don't really care whether you're sorry or not. You are going to get it Allie Harper. It's about time you learned your lesson." She leered.
