ALBUM INFO:
  • American Idiot was released in 2004
  • Green Day won "Best Rock Album" for 'American Idiot' at the Grammys 2005
  • 'Jesus Of Suburbia' and 'Homecoming' are both nine minutes in length
  • Tré Cool sung and wrote 'Rock And Roll Girlfriend', which is part of 'Homecoming'
  • Mike Dirnt wrote and sung 'Nobody Likes You' which features in the song 'Homecoming', and partly in 'Letterbomb'
  • Billie Joe wrote all the other songs on the album
  • 'American Idiot' is the story of Jimmy and The Jesus Of Suburbia
  • 'American Idiot' was the first single to be released from the album, followed by 'Boulevard Of Broken Dreams' and most recently 'Holiday'
  • The band's ninth album was originally called "Cigarettes And Valentines" but the master tapes were stolen, however bizarrely enough, no evidence of the tapes have ever turned up on the internet. Billie Joe described the songs on the album as having a similar feeling to "Warning"
