Die Trying is:
Rizzick Ouellette -- guitars/vocals
Doug Mansell -- drums/percussion

Fueled by the harsh reality of an everyday existence and driven by the bitter pangs of a broken heart, a new voice has risen out of the working-class grind in the industrial wasteland of Windsor, Ontario's west side. Like a phoenix from the ashes, comes Die Trying. Combining acoustic guitars, tight backbeats, and thought-provoking vocals, Die Trying's brand of alt-acoustic rock touches the core of the human condition and carves out a path to a dark and lonely place where most bands fear to tread.

With former frontman of the notorious Windsor-based hardcore band DuNcE at the helm, Die Trying's singer/songwriter Rizzick Ouellette has taken his music to a new level -- with a new sound, a new approach and a new shift in perspective -- but not at the expense of compromising the honesty and integrity that has always been the driving force behind his music.

Backed by long-time cohort and fellow ex-DuNcE member, Doug Mansell, the duo utilize poignant lyrics, no-frills "less-is-more" punk ethics, and dark melodic undertones to deliver an unapologetic glimpse into such subjects as loss, struggle, depression and substance abuse.

Die Trying's songs may indeed reflect the cries of a thousand other lovesick, guitar-toting twentysomethings, but what sets them apart from the fray is their ability to paint a perfect and complete picture through their songs without coming off like a whining or melodramatic cliche. In today's over-saturated market of manufactured pretty-boy pop poseur bands who claim to have heart, but lack the credibility to pull it off, the band is living proof that real, straight-up rock music will live on forever...or die trying.
