It all started back in about the summer of 2001, Eric Rogers and Mike Sanders after jammin awhile thought it would be cool to start a band. Mike was playing guitars at the time and Eric was the drummer. So they recruted two guys, Corey Thomas (Bass), and Brandon Moten (Vocals), and those guys became Element 101. This was nothing very serious just playing some covers. But Eric and Mike decided that they wanted something a little more serious than that. So after a couple of shows with that band they broke up and went their sepperate ways. So about the winter of that same year Mike and Eric started talking about starting another band only Eric who had been playing the drums was going to switch to bass. So now they were on the hunt for a drummer. Mike knew a drummer from school who he jammed with all the time in jazz band class, so Mike Combs was brought in later that winter and the three started jammin around for awhile, but they were still short a vocalist. So Mike recomended his cousin Travis Bishir. The four got together and started practicing for their first show under the name The Next Element, but because of baseball Travis was forced to quit the band. Now at this time Mike was in music theroy at school with fellow dumb ass and punk rocker John Fernung, these guys knowing nothing that the teacher was talking about started talking about music and that eventually lead to the band practicing at John's house. It never occured to the band that John would make a great singer, after Travis left the band, John was just going to stand in as the practice singer untill one could be found. But they discovered that he actually had a good voice but needed some work with timing but that was fixed, and John then became the permanant singer. Now it was decided that it was time for a change in name of the band. So one day they all went to guitar center after some PA equipment, and when we went to pay for the stuff they would not except erics check. So as we were eating at a pizza place John said we got Denied our PA equipment and we all thought that sounded good so we changed the spelling of Denied a little bit and it stuck, the four became DENYED. Denyed now consists of John Fernung (lead vocals), Mike Sanders (Guitar), Mike Combs (drums), and Eric Rogers (Bass). This band has a decisevly different Hard Alternative sound and is still in the process of carving out their own identity. Just stick with us (this is only the begining) *`*Denyed*`*
