What started off as that innocent game of Tetris, turned into a long gab fest. Which was good, because I got to learn a lot about her. She had graduated High School in the top 10 of her class, and she was attending NYU, and she was majoring in Child Development and Psychology. She was in town visiting her friends, who had taken her to our concert the day before. She wasn't actually sure what she wanted to do yet as a career. She had a full time job at her father's law firm as the secretary. She was 21, and had plans in the future to start a family of her own.
"What about you? What are your ambitions in life?" She asked me.
"Well..... I love what I'm doing right now. I plan on going to college, you know. I will probably always be doing something that has to do with music. Maybe not always on tour and stuff, but who knows, producing for other bands, maybe even sign a few bands and get them started on the road they want to be on. And one day I would like to start a family as well, settle down and get married, have some kids." I smiled at her again.
"So, is there someone special that is lucky enough to get the title of girlfriend?"
I laughed lightly at that.
"No, not really. I have dated..... but no one serious. How about you? Boyfriend?"
"Well, not exactly. My EX boyfriend, Brian, and I recently broke up. He has a serious problem with commitment." She answered. I noted the slight hint of sadness in her voice, and I suddenly felt bad for asking.
"I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to touch on a sad subject for you." I said, casting my eyes to the floor and watched the toe of my sneaker dig into the carpet.
"Why are you sorry? We're getting to know each other. And besides, if I didn't want to tell you, I wouldn't have." She smiled and put her hand on the side of my face. I looked up into her eyes and smiled back at her. She was a very honest person, that kind of reminded me of my mother. She was a blunt, honest person that would tell it the way she saw it.
"Zac, what the hell are you doing?" I could hear Taylor's voice coming through the double doors that separated our rooms.
"Nothing Taylor. I have company, leave me alone." I hollered back. I knew Taylor too well! He would burst through those doors in.....3......2.........1.
"Company? Who the hell is....
Yup, that was Tay. Couldn't seem to mind his own business for 10 minutes! I blocked out what he was saying to Kim, he was babbling on about something. Taylor had even more of a problem with shutting his mouth than I did. But I had another problem too, I seemed to stick my foot in my mouth a lot, too!
"You know... we were talking, Tay. Do you mind?" I asked him.
"Oh... sorry, Zac. I guess I'll talk to you later. It was nice seeing you again Kim." He smiled sweetly at her.
Ugh, my brother the irresistible stud. PFFT! He was as much of a dork as I was sometimes! Don't get me wrong, I love my brothers, but sometimes I just liked being alone, doing something I wanted to do for a change!
"It was nice seeing you again as well. Be good, Taylor." She laughed at him as Taylor closed the doors again. I immediately got up and locked them.
"I'm so sorry, I just don't like it when people burst into my room like that." I explained.
"You don't have to explain anything to me." She grinned. God, she was so hot.
"It's just, usually when I like a girl......Taylor always seems to like her, too."
"Don't worry Zac, I came here to see you. You're sweet, trying to keep me all to yourself." She laughed.
"If you wanna go hang out with Ike and Tay, we can." I said straightening up.
"No, hanging out with you is fun."
I smiled at her. She was so sweet. I looked at her lips for a second, and wondered what it would be like to kiss her. I shook my head as I realized I was staring at her.
"Zac, is something the matter?" She asked me.
"No, I was just......." I didn't finish my thought as I watched as she got up and walked over to me, standing almost toe to toe with me. She was almost my height, which was new for me, considering I had had quite a growth spurt in the past few years. She looked into my eyes, and gently placed her hand on my cheek. I could feel my eyelids closing slightly at her touch, her hands were so soft. I leaned forward, pressing my lips against hers. I could feel my heart beating hard. She moved her hand into my hair, pulling my lips against hers harder, running her tongue against my bottom lip. I felt like I couldn't breathe, everything around me seemed to just melt away into a puddle of nothingness. She was so intoxicating. I finally breathed in, smelling her sweet strawberry smell. Everything about her filling my senses all at once.
We finally pulled apart, I kept my eyes closed. I could feel my heart again, thudding inside of me. I swear it was going to beat right out of my chest. I opened my eyes, looking at her again. Her face was slightly red, her cheeks flushed. Her breathing was ragged, coming out in short, even bursts.
"Oh my....." She whispered, bringing her fingers to her lips, touching where I had just kissed. I smiled at her and put my hand into her hair.
"Thank you." I whispered into her ear.
