I snapped out of the sleep I had been in and looked back over at Kim. She was still sleeping, the blankets wrapped tightly around her naked body. I pulled myself out of her arms and slid off the side of the bed. I bent down to her ear and pushed her hair aside lightly.
"Kim." I whispered against it.
"Hmm?" She mumbled, shoving her face into the pillow. I laughed to myself and pulled the blanket down, exposing her naked ass and slapping it hard.
"What?!" She yelled and looked up.
I laughed louder and held my hands up in defeat. If looks could kill, I would have dropped dead right there.
"I just wanted to tell you, I'm going out for a little bit, but I'll be back. Spend time with Tay and Ike if you want. I'll be back in a bit, I promise." I smiled at her. I looked at her butt, which now had a tell tale red mark on it. "I didn't mean to hurt you." I said looking up at her.
"You didn't hurt me baby, if you knew me better, you'd know that that is a huge turn on." She giggled.
"Oh God, I gotta get out of here. I will never end up leaving the bedroom if you keep that up." I smiled at her.
"Would that be so bad?" She asked sprawling out on the bed.
I turned my head and looked around the room. If she kept that up, we would both never leave the room. I'd end up staying there all day and having sex for the entire day instead of going out and doing what I had planned on doing. She would have to wait. I smiled at her again and pulled my hair back. I was thinking about doing something else too.
"I'll be back baby, then you can take advantage of me if you want." I smiled widely and grabbed some clothes, pulling them on quickly. I was in bad need of a shower again, but that could wait until I got back. I leaned down and kissed Kim on the tip of the nose gently.
"Ok baby, I love you." She smiled.
"I love you too, Kim."
I turned and opened the door quietly. Everyone was probably awake by now, and I wasn't sure I wanted to run into my brothers and have to explain all the noise that had more than likely come from my room the night before. Not that it was a bad thing, because I knew that neither Ike, nor Taylor were virgins. So no matter what they said to me, I could always tell them that at least I was getting some. I grabbed my car keys off the hook in the hallway and opened the door. I stepped out onto the doorstep, the crisp air hitting my face. October had to be one of the most beautiful months, not only because it was my birthday and all, but the leaves and things were just so beautiful. Fall had a way of making things look so much more lively. I unlocked the car and hopped in, fastening my seat belt quickly and starting the engine. I just hoped that Kim would like the gift, I knew at least it shouldn't scare her away. I wasn't actually gonna purpose yet, just ya know........ promise myself to her and ask her the same in return. I headed off toward the mall, which was a few miles away. I hated malls. Especially since I knew I'd probably run into people there.
I drove in silence, pondering what I was going to say to her when I handed her the gift. What would I say?
Everything was moving so fast, and the last thing I wanted was to push her away. Then it came to me, the perfect words. I pulled into the parking lot, pulling my keys out of the ignition and unfastening my seatbelt. I was impatient now, and just wanted to get this over with. I was getting nervous, not only that, but what if someone saw me buying a ring? I guess it didn't matter, it would happen sooner or later. I walked into the mall, watching as people passed by me. The many faces that walked by, the occasional glance my way, and the points and stares. I walked into the jewelery store and was instantly greeted by a smiling young woman.
"Good morning sir, my name is Candace. How can I help you today?" She asked politely.
"Well Candace, my name is Zac. And...... I'm looking for a ring."
"Very good sir, what kind of ring?" She asked.
"A promise ring. Nothing too fancy, or flashy. Just, something subtle."
"We've got a few selections that you might want to consider." She smiled and walked behind a glass counter, unlocking it and pulling out a small display of rings. "So, someone special, huh?"
"Yes ma'am. Very special." I smiled, looking over the rings carefully. Then I saw it...... the perfect ring. I eyed it carefully. "May I see that one, the one in the center?"
"Of course sir." She smiled again and pulled the ring out of the display, handing it to me carefully.
I stared at it a little more, putting it on the tip of my index finger and looking at it a bit closer. It was beautiful, and seemed so........ like Kim.
"I'll take this one. And please, call me Zac." I smiled back up at her.
"Wonderful Zac, will that be cash or charge?"
"Charge. And can I get it wrapped up and put into a box please?"
"Oh, of course. And it's a wonderful choice." She smiled and put the rest of the display back into the glass counter and locking it.
"Thank you." I smiled back and looked at it again. I handed it back to her so she could ring it up. I got butterflies in my stomach just then, and couldn't help but smile again. I didn't quite hear Candace as she rung up the purchase and chatted away about something. I focused on the ring carefully, deciding how I was going to give it to her, and when.
I paid for the ring and carried the small bag around the mall for a minute or so, until I saw another place I wanted to go into. It was out of the ordinary to do things like this, but I was going to do it. What the hell, fly by the seat of my pants. I shrugged and walked into the store, tugging on my ponytail nervously. This was crazy, absolutely, utterly friggin' crazy!
