| Here is a mod that I dreamed up, that, enhances the existing security
system. The point of this idea is to make the security system more
visible and audible while in the "armed" mode. I added a high
intensity, 8000mcd LED to the flashing "key" light that exists in the
speedo. I mounted my LED on the triple tree cover. The external LED is
much more visible to passers by.
I also mounted an audible piezo element inside the speedo console that "chirps" in sync with the
LED. The piezo element is very low current draw, and is not overly loud by
any means. I have had this setup in place for ~2 years with zero
problems. It will not drain the motorcycle battery, provided the bike is
started every few weeks. |
