BSHS Band Reunion 2005 is almost here!

Don’t forget: The reunion this year will take place on the July 22nd week-end in Dallas, Texas. Although we typically meet in Austin for the reunion, we're looking forward to a change of scenery and meeting up in Dallas this year.

We will be staying at the Courtyard by Marriott, 15160 Quorum Drive, Addison, Texas. I have reserved a block of rooms at the group rate of $69.00 per night. You will have a choice of a king or double room at this rate, which includes a Continental Breakfast on Saturday and Sunday mornings. They will hold this block of rooms until July 8, at which time you can still get a room if they have vacancies. Please let me know if you plan to come so I can make arrangements for more rooms if we need them. You will need to call the hotel directly at 972/404-1555 to make your reservation. Be sure to tell them you are with the Big Spring High School Band Reunion to get the special rate. We have booked a meeting room, so we will have a central (and cool!!) place to visit.

Many of you have heard this before, but for those of you who have not attended a reunion, it is a week-end of fun and relaxation. Spouses and children are, of course, welcome and encouraged to attend. We are a very informal and casual group and hope you will join us this year. Some people come in on Friday afternoon or evening; others come in whenever they can get there. Each reunion brings new people for the first time so if you’ve never been before, don’t worry–-there will be others who are there for the first time, as well. Those who live in the area usually pop in and out all week-end. This is a time for casual visiting, renewing old friendships and making new ones. Some people like to tour the city; others stay at the hotel all week-end. We will have our usual dinner together on Saturday evening. There are no special plans for the week-end except for the date and place.

Dinner reservations will be made for Saturday evening, July 23, at 6:00 p.m. at a location to be announced. Please let Mollie know how many in your family plan to attend the dinner so we will have plenty of room for everybody.

We all feel a special kindred spirit for those who were in the band with us. After all, we spent most of our time together! Mr. Bradley was a special man who held us all together and gave us a special bond. That bond has lasted for many, many years and still gives us fond memories. I hope you will make a special effort to be in Dallas for the reunion. You will be glad you did.
