BIOGRAPHY: TONY FREDIANELLI

Music has lovingly dominated Tony Fredianelli’s life ever since he picked up a guitar at the age of 14. Within six months he became a guitar instructor at the local music store in his hometown. Two years later, Tony caught the attention of guitar aficionado, Mike Varney of Shrapnel Records. Varney immediately penned Fredianelli to a record contract. Tony went on to make four records for Shrapnel, the last of which is still in print. Tony’s diverse musical background shows in his unique playing style. His favorite band is and has always been the Beatles, but Tony also has a background in classical and jazz fusion music.

Fredianelli was with the early incarnation of Third Eye Blind for a year, playing their first gigs at the Fillmore in San Francisco. These first shows with 3eb have been described by Tony as some of the happiest moments in his life. Living in Las Vegas made playing with San Francisco’s Third Eye Blind a bit too challenging at the time, so they parted ways. During the period that he was not playing with 3eb, Tony formed the band MAJIK ALEX, which filled his musical needs and allowed him room to grow as a singer and a songwriter. With MAJIK ALEX, and other bands, Tony was a bright light on the Las Vegas club scene. Then early in 2000, Tony was invited back into the folds of Third Eye Blind in a whirlwind of activity. Starting with a “Tonight Show” appearance, with just one day of being back in the band, to non-stop touring and recording. Tony is happy with his reunion with 3eb and says he finds the fans most inspiring!
