Cerebral popsters The Faint supply a steady dose of 80's flair to a sound that's very
"today". The band blend what was good about the Cure and Psychedelic Furs with
something near the Bluetip or Girls Against Boys, and complete the mix with searing
melodies. Still, though, this record just reminds me of the 80's. Of one time four friends
and I were driving around looking for somewhere to buy beer (though none of us were of
age) when my friend (I don't want to name names so let's call him 'Robert'), the driver of
the car, cuts off not one but two carloads of jocks. The end of the story involves us flying
75 mph neatly through a bank drive-through and the police. Anyway, The Faint have a
good record in Media and I highly recommend it.
