I think this band hails from Nebraska, but thank God they don't have a mid-western emo sound. This is pretty cool stuff, because it has an 80's new wave appeal to it, amongst others like Elvis Costello. I also think that is sounds like a cross between Weezer and Weston. It's not that happy or quirky, but I could definitely see those bands going in that direction. There are 12 songs on this beast, with "Syntax Lies" being the opening number, grabbing your attention very quickly. "Some Incriminating Photographs" has definitely got the guitar hooks of the album. I could describe the sound of the entire album as a rewrite of the Pretty in Pink soundtrack, renaming it "Media." Very hip.
