1994. Joel Petersen and Todd Baechle form Norman Bailer. Clark Baechle and Conor Oberst join shortly after.
Oct. 1995. With a slight change in line-up (now consisting of Todd, Joel, Kim, and Clark), Norman Bailer release a track on the Music Me All Over 7".
Jan. 1997. The Faint are featured with two songs on the Saddle Creek Records Sampler CD. The band has changed once again: Todd (voice/guitar), M. Bowen (bass/voice), Joel (guitar), and Clark (drums).
March 1998. Media is released on Saddle Creek Records.
June 1999. The Faint contribute "brokers, priests, and analysts" to a split 7" with the Ex-Action Figures. Jacob Thiele and Ethan Jones are added in the official band line-up. Matt Bowen is credited with playing bass as a non-band member.
Nov. 99. Blank-Wave Arcade is released by the current band line-up.
