I heard "one step closer" from linkin park about 3 weeks or so ago at a friends house, and after I heard it, I was instantly hooked, and knew that I would have to get the CD. Of course, I burned a copy in advance and bought the CD on the release date, which was October 24th. The most unique thing about linkin park is the fact that they carry two lead singers, that's what makes them one of the best bands I have ever heard. Basically, this is the best CD of the year, and from the potential linkin park shows, I'm sure there will be many more CD's to come from them.

Tracks - In order
1. papercut
2. one step closer
3. with you
4. points of authority
5. crawling
6. runaway
7. by myself
8. in the end
9. a place for my head
10. forgotten
11. a cure for the itch
12. pushing my away

papercut - the opening track to the best CD this year, this is great track to start the CD off with. the vocals and the guitars are awesome in this song, and this is one of my favorite off the CD.

one step close - the first single off the album, another kick ass track that makes you rock out and is definetly one of the best tracks.

with you - the intro to this track is awesome, with the dj scratch then into the vocals, not one of the more heavier tracks, almost like a love song or something. also one of my favorites.

points of authority - this is the song that they contributed to the little nicky soundtrack. the dj in the backround is tite in this song. this is one of the better tracks on the cd.

crawling - this is my favorite song on the album, the best part is the intro, and then the guitar hits it hard and it's just an awesome song. the vocals in this song are awesome also.

runaway - what makes linkin park unique from most bands i've heard are the intros to each song and this is another song with a great intro. quality rock songs is what this cd is about and this track is no different, this is one of the hardest tracks on the cd, and is awesome just like all of them.

by myself - this is the only songs without a unique intro, but that doesn't take anything away from the track. the lyrics to this song have a strong meaning. great song.

in the end - with a similar intro to crawling, this is again a great song on this CD, the lyrics to this song are awesome, the vocals blend awesome and the songs sounds awesome. i'm pretty sure the lyrics have a deep meaning to, another awesome track.

a place for my head - awesome guitar intro, and the song meaning, is awesome. song a lot of people can relate to, and another one of my favorites.

forogtten - there is no intro on this song at all, but like by myself that doesn't take away from the track. one of my favorite things about this band are the lyrics and the way they can take a softer song and just rock out, this song is a perfect example.

a cure for the itch - this song is pure DJ hahn, and it has sort of a moby vibe, this is an awesome song. good intro and a great beat. the piano affect in the backround is real tite.

pushing me away - a great way to end the CD. with another unique intro, the affect used is awesome, and the vocals on this song are among the best. lyrics to this song are also great.

Hybrid theory on a scale of one to ten would definetely get a ten. it's not everyday that a record comes out, and every song on it could be a single, however this album fits that criteria. i know that linkin park will be around for a while and i am really looking forward to seeing them live and eventually buying their next album.
