Ship of dreams Ch 1-3

Ship of dreams

this story is fromAmy's fan fiction

Ch. 1 "Jessie, c'mon!" Amy yelled, stepping just inside the door of her house, "The plane leaves in 3 hours and we have a 2 hour drive ahead of us!" "I'm coming, I'm coming!" Jessie yelled, walking outside. She smiled at Amy. "My, aren't we the grumpy one today?" "It's not everyday that I have to get up at 8:30 on a summer morning when I should be sleeping for about 4 more hours," Amy snapped. "Sorry," Jessie mumbled. She picked up her bags and trudged over to the car. Amy stood there watching her, hand on hips. "Why are you being so slow?" she demanded. She walked over to the car just slightly faster and handed Amy her bags. Amy leaned in to put them in the backseat of her car. Jessie shrugged her shoulders. "Because I'm not so sure if I really go on this trip anymore.." "What?!" Amy exclaimed, pulling her head out too fast and bumping it on the car door. She rubbed her head and took a deep breath. "Jessie, we spent a lot of money and you know how hard it was to convince my grandmother to let me go," she whined, "You can't back out on me now!" Jessie shrugged her shoulders. Amy read the expression on her face. Being her best friend, she could read her like a book. Her eyes widened in understanding and her mouth formed an O. "I know what this is all about...You are afraid of meeting Matt aren't you?" Jessie smirked at her. "No, I get airsick," she sneered. Amy pointed a finger up and flashed her friend one of her trademark grins, crooked to the side, dimples showing. "Some people do, you know," she joked. Jessie rolled her eyes and walked over and sat on the edge of the car. "Don't even start." Amy put her hands on her friend's shoulders and looked her in the eye. "Jess, you have absolutely nothing to worry about." Jessie flipped her shoulder-length dark brown hair back with a shake of her head and looked away. "How are you so sure?" Amy stepped back. "Think about it, Jess. Ya'll talk on the phone all the time and ya'll know more about each others' lives than your own." "But, we've never met in person like this. Amy, you know how guys are. They are so focused on how a girl looks. Matt's gonna take one look at me and run for the hills." Amy shook her head. "Jessie, you are not ugly. How many times do I have to tell you that?" Jessie looked back at her. "About as many times as I have to tell you the same thing." Amy chuckled. "Besides, Matt's not like that. I can tell. If I'm wrong and he does care, he's a jerk that doesn't deserve a great person like you." Jessie curled her lips up and gave a slight shrug. "That's sweet and all, but I like him a lot and I don't want him to be a jerk. See, if I go and he is a jerk, I'm gonna get hurt which is why I shouldn't go." Amy put her arm around her friend's shoulder sympathetically. "You're talking to the queen of rejection here.I know the signs of it and I'm definitely not seeing it here. I see a great guy who is in love with great girl and they're gonna meet in Atlanta because I'm gonna force the girl to go and they'll fall in love, never to be separated again. Besides, I need someone to go and get on my nerves all week." Jessie gave Amy a tiny smile. "That's true. The part about someone getting on your nerves, that is..." Amy looked around at her friend's face. "So?" Jessie sighed, giving in. "I'm going.." Amy patted her on the shoulder. "Yes! C'mon now. Let's go!" She ran around to her side of her red '87 Nissan Maxima and opened the door to the driver's side. Jessie climbed in on the other side. Just as Amy started to get in, she heard: "You just gonna leave and not say bye to me?" She turned to see her grandmother, June she called her, standing on the porch. She walked over to her and gave her a hug and a kiss on the cheek. "Sorry, but we are running late and I didn't want to wake you. Well, bye. Love ya.." She started to walk off. "Love you too. You behave yourself and..." Amy nodded her head. "I know, I know..Call you when we get there," she finished. "Have I become that predictable?" "Either that or I'm a mindreader. I'm going with the first thing though. Bye now." She gave June another hug."You take care of yourself." "Yes, mother," June teased. Amy started to make a joke when she heard Jessie blow the horn and point to her watch. "I gotta go. See you later." She walked off to her car and got in. She started it up and she and Jessie put their seatbelts on. "Back to Your Heart" was blaring from her BSB cassette tape in her tape player. Amy backed out carefully, just missing the mailbox which she had a habit of hitting and pulled out in the street. She waved at her grandmother, shifted into drive, and took off. Jessie looked over at her friend who was singing so beautifully and with such meaning to the song of her beloved group. She saw a single tear slide down her friend's cheek as she sang the words: "It's not that I can't live without you It's just that I don't even want to try Every night I dream about you Ever since the day you said goodbye..." See, the story was that Amy had been dating her boyfriend, Lance for about 2 years when suddenly just two nights ago, he called (he couldn't come tell her face to face and that pissed Jessie off) and told her he had to break up with her. When she asked him why, she got the biggest shock of her life: He'd been cheating on her with the head cheerleader and he had gotten her pregnant..in fact, she was about 2 months along. He had never done anything like that or even seemed the type to do anything like that. Well, needless to say, they broke up but Amy loved him dearly so she was still devestated from it. Jessie looked at her friend sympathetically. "Still thinking about him, aren't you?" Amy wiped her eyes and gave Jessie a sideways glance. "How could I not? You don't just get over these things, Jess. And this song..it's too personal, too close to home. I doubt I'll ever get over this. At least, it'd take a very special person to do it.." Jessie smiled ever-so-slightly. "Like Mr. Carter singing there?" she questioned, knowing the answer was yes. Amy shook her head. "He's dating that Mandy girl. Besides, I don't even think he could do it for me. I loved Lance too much and he hurt me too bad. I doubt I can ever trust another guy again." "Amy, don't say that. Not all guys are like Lance. And I'm sure once Nick laid eyes on you, he'd be like 'Mandy, WHO?' Amy, you deserve someone better than Lance. Like you said, a great person like you doesn't deserve a jerk like him." Amy bit her lip to keep from smiling. "Don't use my words on me." Jessie grinned. "I couldn't think of anything else better 'cuz what you said was true.." Amy tilted her head slightly to the side. "That is true. I am good with words like that." "Don't be so modest, geez," Jessie joked sarcastically. Amy laughed. "So you'll be okay?" Jessie asked. Amy looked at her as "Let's Have a Party" came on her tape. "Yeah, I'll be fine. At least for now." She opened the sunroof, turned the radio up til her speakers rattled, and sped up on the interstate. Both girls sang at the top of their lungs and people in other cars honked at them yelling for them to turn it down. About 45 minutes later, they stopped at a small town gas station for bathroom. Amy got out, stood up, stretched, and slipped on her shades. She pulled her khaki shorts out of her butt and pulled them down from where they had been riding up on her legs and fixed her bra strap that had been sticking out of her blue tank top. As soon as she looked up, she saw these two guys standing by the door to the store, looking at her in astonishment. She sized them up with one glance and huffed. She could hear Jessie cracking up as she got out. They walked by the guys and Amy glanced at them with a irritated look on her face. "Ain't like you ain't never picked your butt in public. Get over it," she snapped, opening the door and walking in. The cool breeze they received was enough to make them stay inside. They walked up to the cashier who just stared at them. Amy looked back at Jessie. "God, you'd think they'd never seen a girl before," he whispered out of the corner of her mouth. Jessie laughed. "Don't be so cynical, Amy. A lot of people accept it as a compliment." Amy smiled at the boy. "C-can I help you?" the boy, she guessed was about 16, stammered. Amy could hear Jessie giggling behind her covered mouth. Amy gave the guy the straightest look. "We need the keys to your bathroom." The guy handed her the keys and Amy tipped her sunglasses at him. "Thanks, we'll be back in a few minutes." They walked out the door and around back to the bathroom. Amy unlocked the door while Jessie stood with legs crossed. "Hurry, hurry..." she whimpered, bouncing slightly. Amy unlocked the door and ran in real quick. "Ewww...the toliet's wet!!!" Jessie heard Amy screeching. She started cracking up. "Shut up Amy before I pee on myself!" "My butt's wet!! Ewwww...!!!" "Amy!!" She heard the toliet flush as Amy walked out the door. She smiled at Jessie as she went in the door. "If you balance yourself on the two bars, you might not get your butt wet," she suggested. Jessie slammed the door and went in. "I'll take it into consideration. Thanks," she yelled. She came out a few minutes later, shaking her hands to get the excess water from washing her hands off. They walked back in the store and picked up a couple of drinks, Amy a Cherry Coke and Jessie a Surge. They paid for it and returned the key, both girls flashing the guy a flirty smile before walking out. They got back in the car and took off. About an hour later, Jessie was bouncing up and down in her seat, hyper from the Surge. Amy's head was pounding. "Where is an aspirin when you need it?" she muttered. She looked over at Jessie who was bouncing so hard she was knocking the car out of its lane, causing her to have to swerve back and forth. They heard a car honk at them and both Amy and Jessie looked at the driver and flipped her off. She glared at them and sped up. "Jessie, you gotta stop bouncing before I have a wreck," Amy suggested. Jessie sat still. "Sorry," she apologized, "Umm...Amy, wasn't that the airport exit we just passed?" Amy looked in her rearview mirror and saw it was. She hit the steering wheel. "Damn. Now to find a way to turn around." She saw where she could make a U-turn but knew it was illegal. "See any cops?" Jessie looked. "Nope. Why?" "Good." Amy spun into a U-turn and headed back towards the exit. Jessie gave her a grin. "Bad, bad girl...breaking the law. I'm damn proud of ya." Amy smiled wickedly. "I knew you would be." They pulled into the exit and over to the airport. "Now to find a parking space." She found one way in the back. They got their bags, secured the car, and ran as fast as they could through the airport. Before going into the terminal at their gate, Amy turned around to look at one of the stores and collided with a tall blond guy. Without looking at him, she quickly apologized and ran off.

Ch. 2 "Mandy, can't we talk about this?" Nick asked, almost pleadingly. She brushed her blond hair behind her ears and sighed. "Nick, there's nothing to talk about. It's over between us." "But.." he began to protest. Before he could finish, she pulled off the promise ring that he had given her, opened his fist, and placed it in his hand, closing it. "Bye." She softly kissed his cheek. He watched her walk off, jaw slacked, tears burning his eyes, in total shock. Just then, a cute brunette knocked into him. She didn't even glance at him; just apologized and ran off. "Hey, Nick!" his best friend, Brian, yelled. "C'mon, boy. We got a plane to catch!" Nick walked over to him with a pathetic sad puppy look on his face. Before Brian could say a word, Nick summed it all up in four words. "It's over this time." Brian looked at his friend sympathetically and put his arm around his shoulder. "C'mon, we'll talk about it on the plane." They handed the woman at the terminal gate their entrance and got aboard the plane. They saw Kevin, A.J., and Howie and went and sat down next to them. About ten rows up, Amy rushed in to where Jessie was sitting. She started putting her carry-on bag up over the seat. Jessie looked up at her out-of-breath friend. "Where were you? I thought I was gonna have to enjoy this trip all by myself." Amy caught her breath and laughed. "And let you have all the fun? I don't think so." Jessie snapped her fingers. "Oh, darn," she joked. Amy sat down and started adjusting her seat. "So, where were you?" Jessie asked. Amy brushed her hair back and breathed in. "Well, if you must know, I was coming through the gate when I turned to look at one of the stores and when I turned back around I collided with some idiot who wasn't watching where he was going." She breathed out. Jessie laughed slightly. "The way I see it, you were the one not watching where you were going therefore, you were the idiot." Amy raised her eyebrows at Jessie. "Well, the way I see it, you are my friend, so you must be an idiot too." Jessie grinned. "That's very wise thinking. Alex, what do we have for the lucky contestant? See, Amy. It's simple. I am an idiot because us idiots have to stick together." Amy shook her head. Soon the flight attendant came on. She was enough to make the girls gag: blond hair, perfect shape, but absolutely no brain. "Welcome to Delta Airlines Flight 106 non-stop to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida," she chirped. Jessie and Amy looked at each other and rolled their eyes. "What an airhead," they muttered. "If this wasn't in your flight plans, it is now." She laughed the loudest at her own joke. Very soft laughter from the passengers erupted. "Anyways, as you should know, there's a little red service button on the side of your seat," she continued, "If you need any assistance, feel free to press the button. If you feel the need for some fresh air, I hope you brought your own parachute; we're out from the last crash scare." "Are you sure that's why?" Jessie quipped. "Yeah, because listening to you drone on and on is enough to make me jump out," Amy joked. "Well, why don't you do us all a favor and jump out?" the attendant snapped, giving the girls a nasty look. "We don't do favors," Amy snapped. The attendant grew quiet. "Thank you," Jessie muttered. She glared at Amy and Jessie. "Anyways. Everyone fasten your seat belts and enjoy the rest of your flight," she finished. She looked over at Amy and Jessie again and they just gave her an innocent smile. She went and sit down. "I think we have a new friend," Amy teased. They laughed and fastened their seat belts and the plane took off. Nick laughed at what the girls said to that flight attendant. He looked out the window and a wave of nausea came over him. He hated flying and especially hated the window seat. No one would trade with him so he was stuck. He thought about going to sleep, but every time he tried, Mandy echoed through his mind. He looked up at the movie that was playing. He knew he had seen it, but didn't remember it and didn't care to. "When are these people gonna realize that we don't wanna watch this crap?" he muttered. Brian looked over at him with a sideways whisper. "Who said anybody was watching it? Look around." Nick looked around. Everyone was either fast asleep or halfway there. There was one exception: An elderly couple sitting across the aisle from them. "Well, it seems somebody is watching it." He pointed to the couple. Brian looked over at them as the old woman tried to talk to her husband, who was fast asleep, snoring. "Ed, remember when we saw this at that old theater in Birmingham back in '38 when we started dating?" she was saying with a dreamy smile. She received only a loud snore as his response. Her smile disappeared. She looked at the movie screen and then back at her sleeping husband. "You stupid old ass..Of course you don't. That involves too much thinking." She popped him upside the head so hard his false teeth flew out and he almost slipped out of the seat. He woke up and put his teeth back in, glaring at his wife. "What?! Can't a man get some sleep 'round here?" She crossed her arms and glared back at him. "I am just sooo sorry. Like you don't ever get enough sleep," she retorted, "I was trying to ask you something but never mind." "What is it?" he asked, sighing. She looked away. "Never mind. Go back to sleep." He turned around in his seat and went back to sleep. Brian and Nick looked at each other and busted out laughing. "God, I hope I'm not like that when I get old," Nick said. Brian was still laughing. "Which part? The nagging or the grumpiness." "Neither." "You know, that could've been you and Mandy," Brian pointed out. Nick flinched at the sound of her name. "Not anymore." "I mean, ya'll would have never made it without fighting all the time. You need someone who you can have for like, someone you'll always love and who will always love you." Nick looked away. "Highly unlikely. Mandy's the only one I've ever loved and look what she's put me through. I don't think I can go through that again." Brian looked at him sympathetically. "Not every girl is like Mandy, Nick. One day, you WILL find that special girl and when you see her, you'll never let her go." Nick glanced at his friend. "How can you be so sure?" Brian gave Nick this look. "Remember when I was dating Samantha? How she was always cheating on me? I felt the same way you do now, but you see now I've got Leighanne and I seriously think she's the one." Nick looked a little wide-eyed. "As in THE one? Forever? Are you gonna..." Brian smiled with a hinting look in his eyes. "If I can get the nerve. I've got the ring. All I gotta do is ask." Nick smiled. "Wow.." His smile disappeared. "I'll never be that lucky." "Luck has nothing to do with it, Nick. It's all in a matter of fate and what God has planned for you. You never know when that girl might show up. Until that time, you gotta look around. The girl's not just gonna slam into you one day and poof! you're in love." "Funny how you mention slamming into someone..I was talking to...well, being dumped by Mandy when this tall brunette, she had to have been almost 6 feet tall, just ran into me. I hadn't even thought of that until now. She's on this plane somewhere." Just then he saw the girl stand up to get her CD player. "In fact, there she is." Brian nudged his arm. "Go for it." He waited until she sat down. Nick took in a deep breath and stood up. Brian watched him, amused. He sat right back down and looked at Brian. "I can't do it. Not now." Brian nodded understandingly. "Suit yourself." He slid on his headphones, turned his CD player on which he was playing Brian McKnight's first CD, and started listening to it, mouthing the words. He soon feel asleep. Nick felt his own eyes drooping. Just as he started to go to sleep, Howie's chair popped back and he let out a huge snore. Nick was now wide awake again. He kicked the back of Howie's chair but it didn't work. He then came up with a plan. He reached down, pulled off his Nikes and grabbed his stinky, sweaty socks pulling them off his feet. He stuffed them in Howie's mouth. It got quiet. "That's better," he muttered, settling back into his seat. Howie breathed in and must have tasted the socks because he woke up with one of the most sour looks on his face. Nick started laughing and Howie threw the socks back at him, pulled his seat up, and went back to sleep, this time without snoring. Nick once again closed his eyes and soon fell asleep.

Ch. 3 Amy turned her CD player off and looked out the window, watching as the plane sliced through the thick, puffy, white clouds. She couldn't stop thinking about Lance. I know he's not in love with me anymore, she said to herself, So why can't I get over him just as quickly as he did with me? Every song she listened to reminded her of him, even the non-love songs. Every time she tried to sleep, she saw his face. She couldn't stand it. I need someone to come along and make me forget about him. Wake up, Amy. This ain't no damn fairy tale. It'll never happen. She sighed and got up to put her CD player up. As she stretched, she looked around at all the people, noticing everyone was asleep. "Well, look at their idea of entertainment," she muttered, referring to the movie. "No wonder everyone's asleep." She sat down but turned back around to adjust the headrest and about 10 rows back, she saw something that made her fall to her knees in her seat. "No..that can't be him.." But there was no mistaking his golden blond hair and soft facial features. What are the odds? she thought, with a laugh. It was Nick Carter. Man, too bad he's dating that Mandy girl or so that's what Tat said. She watched him sleep. Every breath he took in, he'd breathe out the corner of his mouth and his bangs would fall in his face. She saw Brian, Kevin, A.J., and Howie sitting in the same row. Her eyes kept drifting back to Nick though. She had to tell someone. She looked down at Jessie, who was fast asleep. She leaned down and shook Jessie. "Jess, wake up!" Jessie opened her eyes and mumbled something sounding like "Are we there?" before wiping the drool off of her mouth. Amy was shaking her so hard it was impossible for her to do anything. She finally managed to grab Amy's arm. "Amy, you can stop shaking me now," she snapped, "I am fully awake and will probably have seizures for the rest of my life." Amy gave her a crooked grin. "Sorry. I thought you already had those." "Well, I do now. Now what is so important that you had to wake me from my wonderful nap?" "Nick Carter is on this plane!!" Amy whispered loudly, "As well as Brian, Kevin, A.J., and Howie." "Amy, you might as well talk cuz you don't know how to whisper. Now in reply to what you just told me, that's great. Now can I go back to sleep?"Amy rolled her eyes. "Not until you look." "Amy, I believe you and I'm sure with us being on the same plane, I'll have plenty of chances to see him." "I want you to look now." "Does what I want count?" Amy pulled her up. "Guess not." "Just take a glance," Amy told her. Jessie looked. "Okay, I did. Can I go back to sleep now?" Amy sighed. "Yes." She looked back at Nick as Jessie sat down. Suddenly, he woke up and looked straight at her. Her eyes widened and she jumped back in her seat, blushing. Jessie laughed. "Saw ya, didn't he?" Amy glared at her. "Shut up and go to sleep." Jessie smiled. "No way. This is so much more interesting seeing you all flustered and embarrassed." Amy pointed at the movie. "Watch that. It's so interesting it'll make you fall asleep." "Nah. Seen it already." "Well, I haven't so I think I'll do it now." She started watching it and was almost asleep when Jessie shook her. "Amy, wake up!" Amy slapped her arm away. "Girl, if you don't leave me alone.." she began to warn. "What? What, Amy? What are you gonna do?" Amy grinned wickedly at her. "I'll just have to tell Matt the story of your 14th birthday party and the 'little incident' " It was Jessie's turn to blush. "You wouldn't dare." Amy just gave her a look. "Try me." Jessie huffed. "Oh, fine." She took a book out and started reading it intensely. Amy smiled and went to sleep. Nick felt slightly embarrassed but smiled. Maybe Brian's right, he thought, I do need to move on, try out different girls. I think I'll go talk to her. He stood up to walk up there and tripped over a sleep Brian and Kevin, landing with his head on Kevin's lap and his body in Brian's lap. Brian stirred awake and pulled his headphones off. "Nick, what the hell are you doing?" By this time everyone was laughing at him, including the old couple he'd been laughing at earlier. His face was red all the way to the roots of his hair. He stood up. "Well, I was gonna..uh, never mind.." He sat back down in his sleep. The flight attendant came back over the intercom. "Damn, she be looking good," the now fully awake Kevin commented. The other guys, who were also now fully awake, groaned. Kevin looked at them. "What?" They shook their heads. Jessie sat up and put her book in her lap. She shook Amy, who slapped her arm away. "Jessie, I thought I told you.." "No, no..Our friend wants to talk to us." Amy sat up, smiling. "Well, let's listen to what she has to say!" "We are about to land in beautiful, sunny Ft. Lauderdale, Florida," the attendant announced, "I hope everyone enjoyed their flight because we on Delta Airlines Flight 106 enjoyed you." "I bet that was rehearsed," Jessie whispered. Amy snickered and shook her head. "Nah. Look for the cue cards around here. Someone's holding them up for her to read. I'm surprised that she can read though." Jessie laughed. "Hooked on phonics for airheads worked for her!" Amy nodded, laughing. "Now, everyone fasten your seat belts. My name is Janet and I hope that you enjoy your stay in Florida," she said, sitting down and fastening her safety belt. The plane landed and came to a stop. Amy and Jessie grabbed their carry-on bags and walked to the exit into the terminal. When they came out of the terminal, Jessie checked out the flight schedules. "Matt's flight is already here so he should be at our meeting place." Amy noticed the nervousness coming over her friend's face. They walked over to the food area, but didn't see him. "Reckon he chickened out like you almost on did?" Jessie looked over at Amy anxiously. "You think he did?" Amy looked over and saw a blond haired boy of about 16 waving at her. "Nah, there he is." Jessie looked in the direction that Amy was pointing and saw him. She dropped her bag and ran towards him. He dropped his bag and as soon as she got to him, he picked her up and swung her around, kissing her. Amy smiled slightly, reminiscing about how Lance used to do that to her. She felt the sadness sweep over her again. She had to look away. "Hey, Amy." She turned to see Matt standing there, smiling at her. He was her best guy friend so he knew what she was going through. He opened his arms, inviting her in for a hug. She hugged him tightly and stepped back. He took Jessie's bag and put it on his empty shoulder. He then took her hand and squeezed it, grinning happily at her. Amy looked around the food court and when she looked over at the pizza vendor, she saw Nick standing there. She watched as he ordered his cheese pizza and paid for it. As he reached for some napkins, he saw her and gave her a shy smile and blushed before walking off. Amy felt her skin flush. "Was that.." Matt began to ask. "Yup," Jessie said, "The one and only Nick Carter. You know, with all Amy's been through, seeing Nick even glance her way helps take her mind off of Lance and I thank him for it." Matt nodded. "He looked interested in you, Amy." She looked back at him. "Don't I---Uh, yeah, whatever." She wasn't about to admit she wished Nick liked her. Jessie and Matt smiled at each other, reading her thoughts. "Let's go eat," Matt said, "I am starved. I wasn't about to eat that airplane crap they like to call food." They went and got some pizza and sat down to eat it. Soon afterwards, they threw away their plates and went to claim their baggage. As Amy leaned down to get her bag, she felt someone lean over her so she turned to look and it was Nick. He smiled at her and she smiled shyly at him. "Excuse me," he mumbled. He got his bags and walked off. She grabbed hers and watched him walk over to the other guys. She noticed Brian looking at her saying something to Nick. "Earth to Amy!" Matt yelled, "Let's go!" They walked out to the shuttle bus that took them to the dock and got on. They sat near the front. Amy looked up to see the boys walk by. As Nick walked by, he gave her a small wink. For the first time in the longest time, she felt her heart flutter and she smiled to herself. I may have a chance after all, she thought. "I noticed that girl looking at you awhile ago," Brian said to Nick. All the guys looked at Brian and Nick. "What girl?" they asked. Brian looked at Nick. "Nick knows what I'm talking about." "What girl, Nicky?" A.J. asked. Nick blushed, feeling slightly uncomfortable. "I don't feel like talking about it." "Aww, come on," A.J. begged. "Yeah," the others said, "Tell us." Nick looked away. "Well..aah, never mind." Brian gave him a look. "I'll tell if you don't," he threatened. "Okay, okay..I don't see why ya'll are making such a big deal out of this." Howie gave him a warm smile. "Cuz we just wanna see you happy again. We heard about you and Mandy." Nick glanced at Brian. "You had to bring up her name again, didn't you?" "I'm sorry, Nick," Howie apolgized, "I, we, just want you to see there's other girls besides Mandy in this world and this 'mystery' girl you won't tell us about could be a start." "Anyways..tell us," Kevin interjected. Nick tried to hide his smile. "Well, she's tall with medium length brown hair and these piercing blue eyes. And she's not really skinny but she's not fat. She's got this cute little tummy that shows whenever she stretches and her shirt comes up. Plus she's funny. You heard her joking on the flight attendant.." They laughed, remembering that. "Do you like her?" Howie asked. Nick shrugged his shoulders. "I'm not saying yes, I'm not saying no. I have to take it one step at a time. Step one is, well, get over Mandy. That's gonna be hard after dating her for so long." "I think it won't be hard as you think," Brian commented. "I hope it won't," Nick replied. They grew silent as the bus pulled up to the dock. They got out and walked up to the gate. After showing the people their ticket, the boys as well as everyone else on the bus, entered.
