Approximately 50 years ago, my Grandfather made this issue of the Boys Ranch Magazine. He was a pretty amazing person then, and he is even more amazing now. He has survived being run over by an 18-wheeler (not in a car, but lying underneath it), lung cancer, and Hepatitis C. This guy just keeps on going on, and I love him more than anyone else in the world. Grandpa has always been the coolest guy around at family gatherings. You can't walk in the door and last 30 seconds without him saying… "Hey, do you want a Dr. Pepper? You're more than welcome!" Every time, it never fails. I can remember once or twice that he lasted almost five minutes before offering, but other than that, it never fails. He has got to be the greatest man ever born. He is now one-armed, has one leg longer than the other one, and he is missing half of one of his lungs. Yet still the man is always cheerful, always offering that Dr. Pepper, and always telling you he loves you. You have to admit that there are not too many people that awesome in the world today.
