Mist
Mist begins to form it makes an impenetrable dew
The liquid begins to build, it slowly topples
Starts it way down to the ground
An explosion follows as its walls are torn apart
Locating the millions of pieces that I need
Searching the ground for every drop that has escaped
Bend down get wet I walk away
Feel the dew as I begin to start a new day
The souls are wet
They need to belong
So I search forever never staying always moving on
Slick shoes squeak as I move slowly
So slowly
The mist surrounds my head and I wish
I wish that I could somehow stop the process
And catch every loose droplet that I have let get away
Lock them up and never let them steal away
Sneak along I wander towards my life
Never really wanting to make it
Never wanting to arrive
Maybe I’ll lay down make the moisture prove that I’m alive
Let it soak into the cotton
Give it a chance
Let it set in
And watch as it absorbs everything
