INFLUENCES

This part of our website is devoted to letting you know who our influences are and where you can find out more about them. We both have a wide range of musical styles we like, but the artists you'll find here are the most important ones to each of us.

MICHAEL

Michael's biggest influences from the time he started playing guitar are U2 and REM. His main influences on this album included not only those, but artists like Cake, Luscious Jackson, Dave Matthews Band, and occasionally the Pixies and the Sundays. He has been playing bass guitar almost as long as he's been playing guitar at all, and as with this album, oftentimes found himself filling both roles. When it comes to playing bass guitar, Michael chooses to do more than what would obviously fit in any song. He attributes this to an early interest in music by bands such as Rush, Primus, Rage Against the Machine, and The Who. This creates an eclectic mix of sounds with which Michael is satisfied. Below is a list of links to some of Michael's most influential and favorite bands.

LINDSAY

Lindsay's musical taste is very broad; however, she is quite picky about the bands she admires. Her favorite band for many years has been the Red Hot Chili Peppers, possibly because of her love of hip-hop and being a drummer. Lindsay also likes milder things...Fiona Apple and Edie Brickell are also among her favorites, along with Portishead and Radiohead. As mentioned above, hip-hop and dance music have been some of Lindsay's bigger influences. The Roots and the Pharcyde are some hip-hop favories, and Madonna and Bjork are also big influences for Lindsay.
